Summary: Our study revealed that Guizhi Fuling Wan (GZFLW), a traditional Chinese medicine, inhibits autophagy in polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) granulosa cells (GCs) through the H19/miR-29b-3p pathway. GZFLW reduces the expression of autophagy-related proteins PTEN, MMP-2 and Bax, leading to a significant decrease in the number of autophagosomes and autophagic polymers. Inhibition of miR-29b-3p or overexpression of H19 attenuates the effect of GZFLW on protein expression.

Summary: Human macrophages undergoing hypoxia alter their metabolism, increasing glycolysis as an adaptation. MiR-193a-3p enhances Akt phosphorylation, which is regulated by PPTC7 protein abundance. This leads to increased glycolysis under hypoxia. MiR-193a-3p also affects PFKFB3 phosphorylation, further regulating glycolysis.

Summary: The MALAT1-H19/miR-19b-3p axis may be involved in the development of DN, and these molecules could be useful biomarkers for DN. Dysregulated expression of SEMA4C, PLXNB2, and ATG16L1, targeted by miR-19b-3p and miR-125a-5p, showed that they probably play a role in the development of DN.

Summary: This study investigates the role of lncRNA H19 in promoting myocardial fibrosis by suppressing the miR-29a-3p/miR-29b-3p-VEGFA/TGF-beta axis. The findings suggest that H19 promotes cardiac fibroblast proliferation and collagen synthesis, providing a potential new direction for the treatment of atrial fibrillation (AF).

Summary: Chronic allograft dysfunction (CAD) is a major condition affecting long-term kidney graft survival. In this study, the correlation between plasma miR-21 and the severity of CAD was investigated. RNA sequencing was performed and differentially expressed miRNAs in CAD were identified. MiR-21-5p, miR-20a-5p, and miR-101-3p were found to be associated with the TGF-beta pathway and CAD. These findings may lead to the development of early prediction miRNA biomarkers and therapeutic tools for CAD in the field of kidney transplantation.

Summary: Oral submucous fibrosis (OSF) is a potentially malignant disorder caused by chemical irritation from areca nuts. Overexpression of H19 in OSF tissues and fibrotic buccal mucosal fibroblasts (fBMFs) contributes to increased myofibroblast activities, while the interaction between H19 and miR-29b inhibits the antifibrotic effects. Additionally, arecoline stimulates H19 upregulation through the TGF-beta pathway in OSF, suggesting a potential mechanism for fibrogenesis.
