Summary: This study developed a novel and green ASE technique combined with UPLC-MS/MS for comprehensive characterization of MG in mango fruit. The results showed that the highest yield and MG amount were obtained through ASE with H2O at 80 degrees C for the mesocarp fruit part. The intra-variation of MG was found to be mesocarp > endocarp > epicarp > seed. Statistical models revealed significant correlations between origin, solvent, temperature, and MG amount, while there was no significant correlation between origin and extract yield. This study provides valuable insights into the inter- and intra-variation of MG in different parts of mango fruit.

Summary: Cancer is a major global health issue, with increasing cases each year. The development of cancer is influenced by various factors such as radiation, lifestyle, smoking, environment, and genetics. The cell cycle, regulated by molecular signaling proteins, is disrupted when these proteins are altered, affecting cellular growth and proliferation. Natural products, including phytosterols, have shown promising anti-cancer activities by modulating molecular signaling pathways involved in the tumor microenvironment. Further research is required to establish the clinical efficacy and safety of phytosterols.
