Summary: The research demonstrates that depositing a hematite film on the surface of a carbon microelectrode significantly improves the detection sensitivity of FMN. After optimizing the deposition conditions, the hematite-filmed microelectrode shows superior detection performance for FMN at low concentrations compared to the bare carbon fiber microelectrode.

Summary: A dipstick assay using silver nanoparticles stabilized by a thin calix[4]arene-based coating was developed for detecting Anti-SARS-CoV-2 IgG in clinical samples. Compared to traditional lateral-flow immunoassays using gold nanoparticles, this silver nanoparticle-based system showed a lower limit of detection and similar signals with a smaller number of particles. The dipstick assay demonstrated impressive results in real clinical samples, with 100% specificity for negative samples and a sensitivity of 73% for positive samples.

Summary: Cavity microelectrodes (CMEs) provide a valuable platform for evaluating the electrocatalytic performance of micro- and nanoparticulate materials; experiments show capacitive distortion increases with powder surface area, but faradaic response mainly occurs on the first layer of the powder load, cyclic voltammetry and square wave voltammetry (SWV) are suitable for discriminating faradaic processes at CMEs.

Summary: By using amphiphilic star-like copolymers as nano reactors, we successfully prepared ordered silver nanocrystal arrays with precise control and proved that this method can also be applied to fabricate other nanocrystal arrays. This method has the advantages of low cost, simple process, wide applicability and the ability to prepare complex nanostructures to meet different needs.

Summary: An electrochemical sensor based on silver nanoparticles (AgNPs) has been developed for assessing bromocresol green (BG) in river water. AgNPs were synthesized using the aqueous extract of Ficus sycomorus leaves and then modified onto a glassy carbon electrode. The AgNPs were characterized using various techniques and were found to increase in size after adsorption. The developed sensor showed a linear range for BG detection and low detection limits for both monomer and polymer oxidation.

Summary: The surface-enhanced Raman scattering (SERS) technique based on surface plasmon resonance has gained significant attention for its superior sensitivity in detecting trace levels of organic or biological molecules. However, existing research often focuses on using complex and expensive micro/nano fabrication processes to create artificial substrates for SERS, leading to high costs for masks. This paper proposes a biomimetic SERS substrate composed of silver-coated nanopillar arrays on a cicada wing, serving as both the substrate and the mask, to overcome these challenges.
