Summary: This study developed a new analytical approach for the simultaneous speciation analysis of Cr(III) and Cr(VI) in meat and dairy products using HPLC-ICP-MS and SS-ID. The method achieved excellent baseline separation in less than 3 minutes with sequential complexation for species extraction. Validation results showed high accuracy and precision in quantifying trace levels of Cr(III) and Cr(VI).

Summary: A new and accurate method was developed to determine the dissolved concentrations of Ga in natural waters. Chelex-100, Nobias Chelate PA-1, and Presep((R)) PolyChelate resins were compared for Ga extraction from river water and seawater. Presep((R)) PolyChelate resins were chosen for analysis due to their wide extraction range at low pHs. The optimal isotope dilution conditions for Ga concentration measurements in natural water were discussed.

Summary: This article presents an analysis method for Pb isotope pattern deconvolution using enriched Pb-204 as a tracer to monitor trace levels of Pb within the human body. The method overcomes the limitations of using natural lead as a tracer and allows for the calculation of isotope pattern from measured isotope ratios without knowing the quantities of different isotope sources.

Summary: This study investigates the interplay between d-block metal ions and their associated biomolecules in response to invading pathogens. By using elemental techniques, the researchers were able to quantify both the distribution of trace elements and the abundance of specific transport proteins. The findings demonstrate the potential of a single instrumental platform for multiplex analyses, which can be applied to investigate complex elemental interactions and aid in the development of new therapeutic approaches.

Summary: This study developed a method for monitoring 99Tc in solid environmental samples. The use of alkali fusion instead of acid digestion ensured minimal loss of Tc during sample preparation. A simple separation method using TRU resin in alkaline solution was established, and water was used for elution and direct measurement of Tc. The method achieved high chemical recoveries and demonstrated fast and efficient analysis.

Summary: This study developed and validated an analytical approach for simultaneous Cr(III) and Cr(VI) speciation analysis in bread and breakfast cereals using SS-ID and HPLC-ICPMS. The method efficiently extracted and separated the Cr(III) and Cr(VI) species, with validation showing accurate quantification and precision. The results demonstrated the method's ability to accurately analyze trace levels of Cr(III) and Cr(VI in food samples.

Summary: The study found that there was no oxidation of Cr(III) to Cr(VI) during thermal cooking, and different cooking methods did not significantly affect the levels of Cr species. The analysis of samples showed that Cr was exclusively present as Cr(III) species, with no Cr(VI) detected in any of the samples.

Summary: To meet the demand for multi-element/isotope analysis at the single nanoparticle (NP) or cell level, different types of inductively coupled plasma mass spectroscopy (ICP-MS) have been used to simultaneously monitor multiple mass-to-charge ratios in single-particle/cell ICP-MS (SP/SC-ICP-MS) analysis. Systematic evaluation and comparison of the performance of these techniques are urgently required.

Summary: Single particle inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry (spICP-MS) is used to assess the concentration and size distribution of silver nanoparticles released from textiles. The releasing procedure using shaking and ultrapure water ensures the stability of silver nanoparticles. Filtration and centrifugation do not affect the concentration and size distribution of the silver nanoparticles. The method has low detection limits and good repeatability.
