A comparative study of the photocatalytic efficiency of pure and Ag doped TiO2 on the enhanced performance for the degradation of pharmaceutical products (amlodipine besylate) in aqueous solution under UV irradiation, is presented. XRD analysis reveals that the presence of even small amount of 1% Ag favors rutile-to-anatase phase transformation and grain growth. The photodegradation of amlodipine besylate measurements indicate an optimum catalytic activity of catalyst 0.5 g/L to achieve an efficiency of 100% within 100 min at 10 mg/L concentration of pollutant.
