Synthesis of Nerolidol Functionalized Gold Nanoparticles for Wound Regeneration in People with Diabetic Foot Ulcers in Nursing Care Management

In this present study, we are focus on green nanotechnology in the synthesis of nerolidol functionalized gold nano particles (N-AuNPs) by the reduction of chloroauric acid. Formation of AuNPs have been confirmed by UV-Visible absorption spectroscopy (UV-Vis), UV-Visible spectra showed the characteristic Surface Plasmon resonance peak (SPR) at 535 nm due to formation of nanoparticles. Fourier transform infrared (FT-IR) spectroscopy revealed the functional groups, which can be responsible for AuNPs reduction and stabilization. X-ray diffraction (XRD) analysis revealed the crystalline nature of AuNPs. Scanning electron microscopy (SEM), transmission electron microscopy (TEM) micrograph shows the spherical shape, whereas Energy-dispersive X-ray spectroscopy (EDX) confirms the metallic nature of AuNPs. The formation and particle size distribution of AuNPs were confirmed by dynamic light scattering (DLS), which revealed that size of NPs were in the range of 50-70 nm. Furthermore, synthesized N-AuNPs were examined wound healing activity in Albino rats. The developed N-AuNPs based ointment treatment resulted in enhanced diabetic wound healing within a time period of 14 days when compared to control group which took longer wound healing time. In conclusion, our results based N-AuNPs have delivered a novel therapeutic route for wound dressings in diabetic patients.
