Summary: The study found that leisure centre members have lower levels of physical inactivity (PIA) and higher levels of high-intensity physical activity compared to the general population; women have higher levels of PIA and lower levels of high-PA compared to men; as age increases, the prevalence of PIA increases while the prevalence of high-PA decreases.

Summary: This study investigates the effects of mental fatigue on physical, technical, tactical, and cognitive performance in basketball. The results suggest that mental fatigue impairs technical skills and decision-making abilities, but the influences on physical and tactical performance have not been studied.

Summary: The study found that both physical and mental fatigue are frequently experienced simultaneously in people with non-communicable chronic diseases, but can also occur separately. There is a lack of discussion and treatment for fatigue among healthcare professionals, highlighting the need for increased awareness.

Summary: Physical activity is essential for maintaining physical and mental health. This study investigated the relationship between watching sports cartoons during childhood and adult physical activity and mental health. The findings suggest that watching sports cartoons may indirectly influence adult physical activity and mental health, with childhood sports experiences playing a critical mediator role. Watching sports cartoons can foster sports interests and promote children's participation in sports.

Summary: Mental fatigue refers to the decline in cognitive abilities due to prolonged mental exertion. Neuroscientists understand some underlying mechanisms, while computer scientists have limited knowledge. Artificial intelligence shows potential in modeling mental fatigue, using methods like fuzzy rules, machine learning, and deep learning algorithms. Achieving a balance between parameter acquisition, validation, and interaction is crucial for creating accurate models.

Summary: This study analyzed levels of physical and mental fatigue among Korean female nurses and found that nurses in special care units experienced greater degrees of both types of fatigue. Work department significantly influenced nurse fatigue, emphasizing the importance of monitoring fatigue levels for nurses' wellbeing and patient safety. Strategies to mitigate nursing fatigue, such as counseling programs and ensuring rest time, should be implemented to support nurses, especially those in high-stress units.

Summary: This study aims to compare the acute physiological responses and chronic adaptations to exercise training in people with COPD compared with people without COPD. The methodology includes a systematic review of randomized controlled trials, non-randomized studies of interventions, and cross-sectional studies, with outcomes covering various aspects such as cardiorespiratory, muscular, and cognitive function.

Summary: This study examines the relationship between physical isolation variables (social isolation and loneliness) and safety behavior (safety compliance and safety participation), and finds that mental fatigue plays a mediating role between loneliness and safety behavior. The results indicate that mental fatigue is associated with loneliness and has a negative effect on safety behavior.

Summary: The objectives of this study were to examine the effects of elite rugby league competition on mental fatigue and to investigate the influence of mental fatigue on in-match technical performance. The findings showed that elite rugby league players experienced increased mental fatigue after games, with backs reporting greater increases than forwards. Furthermore, higher levels of mental fatigue were associated with a lower percentage of positive involvements during matches.

Summary: This study analyzed the effects of mindfulness-based mental training and music training on mental fatigue, physical fatigue, and recovery in elite competitive female volleyball athletes. The results showed that mindfulness intervention effectively attenuated mental fatigue, while music training also showed improvement in mental fatigue. These findings can assist coaches and staff in providing fatigue management in sports.

Summary: This study aimed to investigate the effect of probiotic yogurt supplementation on gut microbiota and its relationship with exercise-related psychological fatigue in female taekwondo athletes. The results showed that the supplementation of probiotics for 8 weeks can promote the clearance of exercise-related psychological fatigue by upregulating beneficial gut microbiota, inhibiting harmful gut microbiota, and regulating relevant metabolic pathways.

Summary: This study aimed to compare the traditionally accepted oxygen consumption value for 1 metabolic equivalent of task with measured resting oxygen consumption in postmenopausal women with overweight and obesity. The results showed that resting oxygen consumption in this population was lower than the traditionally accepted value. Additionally, the selected prediction equations significantly overestimated resting metabolic rate. The findings suggest that the use of standard metabolic equivalent of task may lead to misclassification of physical activity intensities in this population, and indirect calorimetry should be preferred for determining resting metabolic rate.

Summary: This study aimed to assess the reliability of an isokinetic dynamometer in measuring glenohumeral joint position and movement sense tests. The results showed moderate-good reliability for intra-rater and inter-rater tests in measuring GHJ internal rotation movement sense. The intra-rater test reliability was poor in external rotation, but the inter-rater test reliability was moderate-good. However, the isokinetic dynamometer demonstrated excellent intra-rater and inter-rater test reliability in movement sense measurements. The conformity and repeatability of both position and movement sense tests were extremely good.

Summary: The study compared the quality of life, knee functions, and isokinetic muscle strength of patients who underwent ACL reconstruction with hamstring tendon (HT) and bone-tendon-bone (BTB) autografts. There was no statistically significant difference in isokinetic evaluation and Lysholm score between the two groups, but there was a significant difference in SF-36 physical function domain score. The SF-36 questionnaire can be easily applied to this patient population.
