Summary: The research findings suggest that preferences for stuttering treatment goals do not significantly vary based on age or years in treatment, and caution should be exercised given the small sample size. Individualized treatment for school-age children and adolescents with stuttering is crucial due to the variability in responses.

Summary: This paper systematically reviews the effectiveness of behavioral stuttering interventions through group and case studies. The results indicate that there is most evidence about the treatment of early childhood stuttering, with the Lidcombe Program being the most convincing method. Holistic treatments may influence speech fluency and overall experience of stuttering behavior in adults, while speech restructuring treatments have a positive effect on overt characteristics of stuttering. However, there is little evidence about school-aged children and covert stuttering behavior.

Summary: This study found that cortical-subcortical hyperconnectivity related to affective-behavioral integration and cortical network hypoconnectivity related to cognitive control are present in OCD patients. The objective was to examine whether these connectivity patterns predict treatment response. The results showed that ERP produced greater decreases in symptom scores compared to SMT. Decreased connectivity between vmPFC and subcortical regions, especially in unmedicated participants, was associated with ERP.

Summary: Current treatments for adolescent alcohol use disorder (AUD) are limited in their efficacy, so investigating pharmacotherapies as adjunctive treatments is crucial. N-acetylcysteine is a promising candidate due to its tolerability and ability to modulate neurotransmitter systems. This preliminary investigation found no significant differences in brain metabolite levels or alcohol use between N-acetylcysteine and placebo, possibly due to the young age and non-treatment seeking status of the participants.

Summary: This study evaluated the effect of two different duration and intensity multicomponent educational health promotion strategies on adolescents' cardiovascular health. The results showed that the school-based health promotion program had a neutral effect on the cardiovascular health of the adolescents over a four-year period. Further research is needed to assess the efficacy of school-based health promotion programs.

Summary: In recent decades, the prevalence of Internet use disorder (IUD) has increased significantly, with estimates ranging from 1.0% in Germany to a global average of 7.02%. Developing effective treatment programs for IUDs is now more critical than ever. Motivational interviewing (MI) techniques have shown effectiveness in treating substance abuse and IUDs, and online-based health interventions are also becoming more popular as a low-threshold treatment option.

Summary: This study aimed to investigate whether community clinicians from Australia and England can achieve the outcome benchmarks established in randomized trials for the Lidcombe Program. The results showed that community clinicians in both countries achieved similar outcomes to those from randomized controlled trials. However, therapist drift emerged as an issue in community translation.

Summary: There is a growing interest in the role of death anxiety in mental health disorders. It is suggested that the fear of death may contribute to the development and maintenance of chronic mental health problems, as well as relapse and the emergence of new disorders in previously treated patients. This selective review aims to explore theoretical accounts, examine evidence, describe limitations, and provide future directions for this field.

Summary: This systematic review examined the relationship between death anxiety and suicidality in adults, as well as the impact of death anxiety interventions on the capability for suicide and suicidality. Four studies involving a total of 376 participants were included. The findings showed a significant positive relationship between death anxiety and rescue potential, and a weak negative relationship with suicide intent, circumstances of attempt, and a wish to die. There was no association between death anxiety and lethality or risk of lethality. No studies examined the effects of death anxiety interventions on the capability for suicide and suicidality. More rigorous research is needed to establish the relationship between death anxiety and suicidality, as well as the effects of interventions.

Summary: Growing evidence suggests that death anxiety is associated with various mental health conditions. Therefore, there is a need for scalable, accessible and cost-effective psychological interventions to reduce death anxiety. The present study examines the effectiveness of a CBT-based online intervention called Overcome Death Anxiety (ODA) and provides initial evidence to support further research.
