Summary: Studying the immune response of hybrid sturgeon to Aeromonas veronii infection, this research isolated and identified a bacterial strain from affected fish. The study observed severe histopathological changes and significant alterations in blood lymphocytes and antioxidative enzyme levels during the infection. The findings provide valuable insights into the immune response of hybrid sturgeon against A. veronii infection.

Summary: This study assessed the impact of short-term gradual heating and recovery on the antioxidant defense systems of the Siberian sturgeon. The results showed that the fish has a strong antioxidant system and adaptive capacity to heat stress, and is capable of quickly recovering to pre-stress levels within 24 hours.

Summary: Differences in individual personality are common among animals and play an important role in ecology and evolution. This study focused on Siberian Sturgeon and found that shy individuals had better swimming performance, higher recovery ability after exercise fatigue, and streamlined morphological features. These findings contribute to the understanding of fish behavior biology and highlight the relationship between personality and swimming performance.

Summary: This study explores the umami mechanism in sturgeon meat by isolating and identifying five peptides. It confirms that these peptides contribute significantly to the umami taste of sturgeon meat and also enhance its saltiness. Molecular docking and dynamics simulations reveal the specific molecular interactions between these peptides and certain residues.

Summary: In this study, the inflammatory response mechanism and characterization of NOD-like receptors (NLRs) family in Siberian sturgeon were investigated using transcriptome analysis. The results showed differential expression of genes related to pattern recognition receptors, adaptor proteins, cytokines, and cell adhesion molecules. The downregulation of NOD-like receptor family CARD domains containing 3-like (NLRC3-like) and upregulation of pro-inflammatory cytokines were observed. Furthermore, 19 NLRs with NACHT structural domains were identified in Siberian sturgeon. This study provides insights into the inflammatory response and NLRs family in teleost fish.

Summary: This article discusses a mortality outbreak in sturgeons caused by Aeromonas salmonicida in Spain. The study found that sturgeons are susceptible to this pathogen and exhibit a hyperacute form of the disease without specific clinical signs. The findings contribute to a better understanding of aeromoniasis in sturgeons and its impact on the aquaculture and caviar industries.

Summary: This study evaluated the thermal resistance of Acipenser baerii and its hybrids under chronic heat stress. The results showed that the hybrids exhibited higher survival rates and lower gill damage compared to A. baerii. Additionally, A. baerii was found to be more susceptible to heat stress, as indicated by increased levels of various stress markers in the early stages of exposure. These findings contribute to understanding the coping mechanisms of cold-water fishes to chronic heat stress.

Summary: Probiotic bacteria, such as Lactobacillus spp., produce bioactive molecules called postbiotics that play important roles in supporting the immune system in the intestinal mucosa. This study investigated the potential effect of postbiotic fractions from L. rhamonosus and L. plantarum on immune responses induced by inflammation. The results showed that these fractions have a beneficial effect on controlling inflammation and protecting the intestinal barrier. They also found that these fractions can regulate cytotoxic activity in intestinal epithelial cells.

Summary: Recombinant L. plantarum expressing influenza virus antigen HA1 with DCpep adjuvant induced multiple immune responses in mice, activating dendritic cells in PPs and increasing IFN-gamma(+) cells in spleen and MLNs. It also elevated IgA levels in mucosal tissues, induced high levels of specific antibodies in serum and feces, and significantly increased HI potency, demonstrating potential as vaccine candidates for avian influenza virus.

Summary: The study identified HMGB1 and HMGB2 in Acipenser baerii and found that these proteins play important roles in DNA damage repair, immune response, and inflammation. The expression of these proteins was detected in multiple tissues and was significantly induced after infection and PAMPs treatment, suggesting their involvement in the pathogenic infection process. This provides a basis for further understanding the mechanism of enteritis induced by Streptococcus iniae in Acipenser baerii.
