Summary: USP2a plays a crucial role in regulating trophoblast invasion and abnormal expression of USP2a may contribute to recurrent miscarriage by affecting trophoblast invasion. Interestingly, TGF-beta secreted by M2 macrophages can induce trophoblast migration and invasion, highlighting the complex interplay of various factors in the pathogenesis of RM.

Summary: This study found that TGF-beta 1 can upregulate the expression of kisspeptin in human EVT cells through the ALK5 receptor. TGF-beta 1 activates both the SMAD2/3 and the ERK1/2 and PI3K/AKT signaling pathways, with inhibition of ERK1/2 attenuating the stimulatory effect of TGF-beta 1 on kisspeptin expression. Knockdown of kisspeptin attenuates the inhibitory effect of TGF-beta 1 on EVT cell invasion. Serum levels of TGF-beta 1 and kisspeptin are also significantly elevated in patients with PE.

Summary: Preeclampsia is a severe hypertensive disorder of pregnancy caused by placental villi pathology leading to widespread maternal endothelial dysfunction. Modulating trophoblast differentiation pathway through PPAR gamma-GCM1 axis may reduce excessive sFLT1 production and improve clinical outcomes. Pharmacological manipulation of PPAR gamma activity shows potential to rescue the antiangiogenic state of preeclampsia.

Summary: This study demonstrates that knocking down PAD4 can reduce the risk of preeclampsia by inhibiting inflammation and promoting cell invasion and migration. These findings contribute to a better understanding of the molecular mechanisms underlying the development of preeclampsia and provide a promising target for the development of new treatments for this disease.

Summary: The article discusses the complex process of placental implantation and development, as well as current technologies used to study the behavior of placental cells. Regulation by transcription factors leads to differentiation of trophoblast cells and formation of distinct populations. The 3D in vitro model is crucial for studying placental physiology and modeling placental diseases.

Summary: Invasive trophoblast cells play a crucial role in placental development and pregnancy outcomes. ASCL2 is identified as a key regulator of invasive trophoblast cell lineage development in humans and rats. ASCL2 deficiency impairs EVT cell differentiation and impacts placental morphogenesis.

Summary: Maternal pregnancy hyperglycemia is often accompanied by placental dysfunction. This study found that the upregulation of Stanniocalcin2 (STC2) expression in gestational diabetes mellitus (GDM) placentas was associated with autophagy activation and EMT suppression, leading to decreased invasiveness of extravillous trophoblasts (EVTs).
