Generation, characterization, and protective ability of mouse monoclonal antibodies against the HA of A (H1N1) influenza virus

Summary: This study obtained three monoclonal antibodies against influenza virus from mice immunized with the HA protein of A/Michigan/45/2015(H1N1), demonstrating strong preventive and therapeutic effects. Two amino acid mutations were discovered, and one of the antibodies still showed protective efficacy after 24 hours of infection.

Identification of an immunodominant neutralizing epitope of porcine Deltacoronavirus spike protein

Summary: We identified two monoclonal antibodies that effectively neutralized PDCoV, with one targeting the S280-288 epitope and the other targeting the S506-513 epitope. The S280-288 epitope induced specific neutralizing antibodies and provided partial protection against disease in piglets. This study provides valuable insights for understanding the pathogenic mechanism of PDCoV, vaccine design, and antiviral drug development.

A chikungunya virus-like particle vaccine induces broadly neutralizing and protective antibodies against alphaviruses in humans

Summary: By analyzing samples from a phase 2 clinical trial, researchers found that the PXVX0317 vaccine induced high levels of neutralizing antibodies and circulating antigen-specific B cells against chikungunya virus. Monoclonal antibodies generated from peripheral blood B cells of vaccinated individuals demonstrated potent neutralization of CHIKV and related arthritogenic alphaviruses. These findings highlight the inhibitory breadth and activity of the B cell response induced by the PXVX0317 vaccine against CHIKV and potentially other related alphaviruses.

Binding epitope for recognition of human TRPM4 channel by monoclonal antibody M4M

Summary: This study designed a mouse monoclonal antibody called M4M to block human TRPM4 channel. Using peptide microarray, a binding epitope EPGF within the A2 peptide was identified. Structural analysis showed that EPGF is located externally to the channel pore and A1 peptide is close to the EPGF binding epitope. Electrophysiological study revealed that M4M can block human TRPM4, but not rodent TRPM4.

Summary: The discovery of broadly neutralizing monoclonal antibodies against influenza viruses has raised hope for new antiviral drugs. This study found that combinations of monoclonal antibodies targeting different antigenic epitopes against the influenza B virus showed stronger antiviral activity than single antibodies and other combinations. These antibody combinations also maintained good efficacy even when administration is delayed.

Identification of a Monoclonal Antibody against Porcine Deltacoronavirus Membrane Protein

Summary: This study focused on the expression and production of the membrane (M) protein of porcine deltacoronavirus (PDCoV). The monoclonal antibody (mAb) 24-A6 against the M protein was successfully prepared using hybridoma technology. The mAb 24-A6 showed specificity for PDCoV and can be used in various immunological assays. The study also identified the antigenic epitope of the M protein and revealed an important overlap between a functionally important viral assembly region and a region recognized by the immune system.
