In this communication, photoelectrochemical (PEC) reforming of glucose was accomplished on hierarchical TiO2 nanotube arrays (TiO2 NTs). The presence of glucose significantly enhanced the PEC performance of TiO2 NTs, due to a negative shift of the onset potential and a lengthening of the electron lifetime, thus reducing the recombination of photogenerated electrons and holes.
