Trichloroisocyanuric acid (TCCA), a readily available, inexpensive and shelf-stable reagent, in combination with a catalytic amount of TMSOTf, has been used for the first time for efficient glycosylation reactions based on thioglycoside donors with SEt, SPh and S-pTol leaving groups at the anomeric centres.

Summary: Carbohydrates play essential roles in human health, but they can also be involved in detrimental processes such as microbial infections and cancer metastasis. Vaccination is recommended as the best preventive measure for managing pathogenic processes caused by bacteria, as it can lead to the eradication of bacterial diseases. However, existing vaccines, while effective in preventing bacterial diseases, also have some disadvantages.

Summary: Carbohydrates and glycoconjugates play a crucial role in various biological processes and have significant potential in diagnostic and therapeutic applications. However, achieving efficient and stereoselective glycosylation remains challenging and requires precise protection of functional groups and optimization of external factors such as catalysts, solvents, and temperatures.

Summary: A new coumarin derivative has been synthesized and characterized, demonstrating its potential as a transition metal ion sensor. The compound exhibits unique photo-physical properties and solvatochromism behaviors in different solvents and pH conditions. It can act as a simple fluorimetric and colorimetric chemosensor for the detection of Ni2+, Co2+, and Cu2+ ions, and also shows binding ability with calf-thymus DNA.

Summary: A simple coumarin derived chemosensor, HNHC, has been designed and synthesized. It shows colorimetric and turn-off fluorescence response to Cu2+ at the nano molar level. The chemosensor HNHC exhibits excellent selectivity and sensitivity in a wide linear range, with detection limits of 9.13x10(-8) M for Cu2+, 1.17x10(-7) M for F-, and 5.64x10(-7) M for CN-. Moreover, HNHC shows potential antioxidant activity due to its excellent free radical scavenging capability.
