Summary: By incorporating silver (Ag) into Cs3Cu2Br5, a new one-dimensional bimetallic halide Cs6Cu3AgBr10 with high white-light emission efficiency is designed. The white-light originates from triplet self-trapped excitons (STEs) emission, which is improved by weakening the electron-phonon coupling and suppressing non-radiative processes. Cs6Cu3AgBr10 also exhibits temperature-dependent emission behavior and self-absorption-free property, enabling applications as a luminescent thermometer and X-ray scintillator. This work provides a general approach for achieving effective single-component white-light emitters based on lead-free metal halides, with potential applications in lighting, temperature detection, and X-ray imaging.

Summary: Direct N-arylation of sulfonamides using a combination of copper and oxalamides (or 4-hydroxypicolinamides) as catalysts is an efficient method. It allows for a wide range of reactions between sulfonamides and (hetero)aryl bromides, and even works well with primary sulfonamides and (hetero)aryl chlorides under the catalysis of Cu2O and a 4-hydroxypicolinamide.

Summary: In this study, a hydrogen-bonding controlled nickel-catalyzed regioselective cyclotrimerization of terminal alkynes was reported, yielding 1,3,5-trisubstituted benzenes with high regioselectivities. The method features a low-cost catalyst, mild reaction conditions, and excellent functional group compatibility. The Ni-B(OH)(2) complex generated in situ from NiCl2·DME and tetrahydroxydiboron may act as an active catalyst for this transformation.

Summary: A series of new heteroleptic copper(I) complexes have been successfully synthesized and their crystal structures have been determined by X-ray diffraction. These copper(I) complexes exhibit turn-on emission sensing for halogen ions, with the differences in fluorescence intensity easily distinguished by the naked eye under UV light illumination. The H-1 NMR titration and theoretical calculations further confirmed the hydrogen-bond interaction between the halide ions and the pyrazole groups.

Summary: A series of heteroleptic mononuclear complexes were synthesized by the derivatization of (NHC)-M-Cl (M = Ag, Au) with selected sulfur donors. X-ray diffraction analysis and molecular simulations provided insights into the electronic structures of these metal complexes. In vitro cellular tests showed that compounds 2 and 8 exhibited inhibitory effects on cancerous breast cells. Additionally, these complexes demonstrated antibacterial activity against certain bacteria and had effects on tyrosinase and hemolysis.

Summary: Three bis(pyridyl-imine) ligands were synthesized and complexed to form four novel complexes with silver(I) salts. Different pre-organized ligands led to the formation of monomeric, dimeric, and polymeric structures in the silver(I) chelates, showcasing the influence of ligand design on metal chelate structures. The d(10) electronic configuration of silver allowed for the adoption of tetrahedral and square planar coordination geometries in the compounds, with DFT methods used to study the stabilizing effects of intermolecular interactions.

Summary: Bis-and tris-pyridyl borate ligands with pyridyl donor arms, a methylated boron cap, and a fluorine-lined coordination pocket have been synthesized and used in coinage metal chemistry. These ligands allowed for the isolation of group 11 metal-ethylene complexes, with gold complexes showing the largest coordination-induced upfield shifts of the ethylene 13C resonance. Solid-state structures of these complexes revealed the rare K2 coordination mode instead of the typical K3 coordination mode. Computational analyses indicated the favored K2 coordination mode and the strong interaction between gold(I) and ethylene.

Summary: The advancement of Ni catalysis has greatly expanded the reactivity of cross-coupling reactions, making it a widely applied method in industrial and academic research. This study presents a simple and efficient approach for the cross-coupling of aryl tosylates using bulky N-heterocyclic carbene ligands under Ni-NHC catalysis. The use of bulky NHC ligands enhances the reactivity of Ni and prevents hydrolysis, leading to high efficiency and selectivity in the cross-coupling reaction.

Summary: The reaction of N-heterocyclic carbene-parent phosphinidene adducts with copper(I) or silver(I) chloride resulted in the formation of monometallic complexes. Single-crystal X-ray diffraction analysis revealed that the (IMes)PH ligand tends to form polynuclear structures, while the larger (IDipp)PH ligand forms mononuclear complexes. The bimetallic complexes could not be isolated in pure form due to their instability in solution.

Summary: The study found that the mechanism for the formation of homocoupling products when [Cu(bipy)(C6F5)] reacts with Rf-I mainly involves transmetalation from [Cu(bipy)(C6F5)] to Cu(III) intermediates formed in the oxidative addition step. Density functional theory calculations showed that the interaction between these Cu(III) species and the starting Cu(I) complex involves a Cu(I)-Cu(III) electron transfer and the formation of an iodine bridge between the metals.
