Summary: The study aims to investigate the associations between diet and sleep quality/health, as well as mental health symptomatology. Findings suggest positive associations with healthy diet, healthy sleep, and high intake of vegetables, fruits, fish, water, and fiber with sleep and mental health, while processed meat and milk intake were negatively associated. Further research is needed to understand the mechanisms by which diet influences sleep and mental health.

Summary: The study found that younger age, greater concern for COVID, and more severe loneliness predicted worse psychological outcomes, but the effects varied across the four regions. Objective measures of social isolation did not affect mental health. Hong Kong, with very strict social distancing protocols plus ongoing political unrest, suffered the most drastic deterioration of mental health.

Summary: This study assessed the levels of anxiety, depression, and quality of life in hospitalized men and women. The results showed that hospitalized women had higher levels of anxiety compared to men, but no difference was observed in the levels of depression. In terms of quality of life, women experienced more deterioration in general and mental health. Therefore, healthcare professionals should be aware of potential psychological changes in hospitalized women as they can significantly impact overall quality of life.
