Summary: The rapid growth in population and industrialization has caused serious environmental problems, especially water pollution. This study focuses on the degradation of pollutants through photocatalysis with semiconductor photocatalysts under solar irradiation. SnO2-TiO2 heterostructures with different ordered layers were fabricated using the sol-gel dip-coating technique and utilized in photocatalysis for the degradation of methyl blue dye under UV irradiation. The findings of this study will contribute to the development of efficient heterostructure photocatalysts for environmental remediation.

Summary: A series of assembled porous TiO2/g-C3N4 (TC) powders were synthesized by controlling the molar ratio of urea to tetrabutyl titanate (TBOT) in a hydrothermal process, resulting in hierarchical nanosheets with uniform mesopores and interconnected macropores. The material showed outstanding photocatalytic behavior towards Rhodamine B and tetracycline hydrochloride degradation, with degradation efficiencies remaining above 90% even after five consecutive cycles.

Summary: A combination of reverse microemulsion and hydrothermal techniques were used to synthesize HA in this study, which was then used to synthesize HA/TiO2/CNT nanocomposite powders. The sample with the highest CNT content displayed superior surface hardness, lower wear rate, and a 58.1% higher Young's modulus compared to other samples. In addition, the in-vitro biocompatibility evaluation showed good binding of human MDA-MB-231 cell line to the surface of the HA/TiO2/CNT composites.

Summary: Titanium oxide (TiO2) thin films were grown on non-functionalized wave-like patterned vertically aligned carbon nanotubes (w-VA-CNTs) using atomic layer deposition (ALD) technique. The structure of the TiO2/VA-CNT nanocomposites varied from amorphous to crystalline phase with increasing deposition temperature. The nanocomposite consisting of anatase crystalline TiO2 grown at 200 degrees C presented the highest degradation efficiency and recyclability for practical applications.

Summary: Web-like architectures of ZnO and TiO2 nanotubes were fabricated using electrospun polymer nanofibers as templates. The nanotubes showed single crystalline phases of wurtzite for ZnO and anatase for TiO2, with no other crystalline phases present, and no other elements in their composition. The nanotubes exhibited lower band gaps than bulk materials and demonstrated high photocatalytic efficiency for Rhodamine B degradation.

Summary: The porous composite coatings consisting of CNT-TiO2 core-shell structures show superior performance in photo-electrochemical water splitting reactions, with a photocurrent improvement factor of over 400%. This enhancement is attributed to the increased interface area with the electrolyte and fast withdrawal of electrons, while the strong absorption properties of CNT severely limit light penetration depth.

Summary: This study presents the synthesis and photocatalytic properties of Silicon-doped TiO2 nanotubes (TNTs) using the hydrothermal method. The doping level of Silicon was varied within the range of 1-30%, leading to enhanced crystallinity and purity of the anatase phase. The doping also resulted in a redshifted absorption spectra and improved photocatalytic activity.

Summary: Bi2MoO6/TiO2 heterostructures were synthesized, which exhibited excellent visible-light absorption due to the presence of Bi2MoO6 nanosheets. The hierarchical structure composed of Bi2MoO6 nanosheets and TiO2 nanorods significantly increased the specific surface area and pore volume of the photocatalysts. The improved performance of the Bi2MoO6/TiO2 heterostructures in methylene blue degradation was attributed to the extended absorption of visible light, the large specific surface area of the hierarchical structure, and the enhanced separation efficiency of electron-hole pairs.

Summary: This paper reports on the application of 3D-printed helix static mixers as photocatalysts for the photocatalytic oxidation of the antibiotic amoxicillin. The experiment was conducted in a laboratory-scale compound parabolic reactor (CPC) with static mixers made from PETG, TiO2, and MWCNT fillers. The efficiency of the 3D-printed photocatalysts was evaluated using a pseudo-first-order kinetic model, and the experimental results were analyzed using the Q-TOF LC/MS technique and presented using MassHunter Workstation.

Summary: The study explores the application of photocatalysis in pollution degradation, showing that Bi2WO6/TiO2 nanocomposites can effectively enhance the degradation efficiency of tetracycline. The degradation of TC is mainly dominated by the ·OH active species, with a possible decomposition mechanism involving the gradual loss of hydroxyl groups and C-ring cleavage. This research provides a feasible strategy for wastewater treatment by removing organic pollutants.
