Summary: In this study, Al2O3 ceramic coatings were prepared on sintered NdFeB magnets using cathodic plasma electrolytic deposition (CPED) method. The coatings were analyzed for their surface morphology, composition, corrosion resistance, and magnetic properties. The results show that the coatings mainly consist of γ-Al2O3 and α-Al2O3 phases and exhibit excellent thermal shock resistance and corrosion resistance under hydrothermal conditions.

Summary: Zinc oxide coatings with different morphologies were electrodeposited on Ti6Al4V substrates, and the incorporation of BG nanoparticles modified the spherical morphology of the coatings. The coatings with spherical morphology exhibited enhanced surface roughness, wettability, and adhesion strength, and showed complete barrier property after immersion in PBS solution. However, adverse effects were observed for the coatings with flower-like morphology at higher deposition voltage. The ZnO-BG composite coating with spherical morphology achieved the highest corrosion barrier performance and improved formation of Ca-P deposits on its surface during bioactivity tests in SBF.

Summary: This paper investigates the electrical discharge machining of magnetized sintered NdFeB (MS-NdFeB) permanent magnet material to improve the machining process. The influences of various parameters on material removal rate (MRR), surface roughness (SR), and change rate of magnetic flux density (MCR) are studied through orthogonal experiments and analysis methods. The analysis of SEM pictures and comparative experiments helps to identify the optimal machining parameters for achieving desired MRR, SR, and MCR.

Summary: By introducing composition and process features as input, we successfully built a sintered NdFeB performance prediction model. The model has good generalization capability, high accuracy, and sound interpretation compared to previous work. Using the Shapley additive interpretation method, we solved the unexplainable problem of ML models and evaluated the contribution of features to the results. Our work is expected to accelerate performance screening and material development of sintered NdFeB.

Summary: In this study, stainless steel material was coated with Ni-B alloy-based, TiC particle reinforced composite film using electrochemical deposition method. The effect of trimethylamine borane (TMAB) bath concentration on the properties of the obtained Ni-B/TiC nanocomposite coatings was investigated. The results showed that TMAB contributed to increasing the deposition rate and had a stronger effect at high TiC bath contents. The nanocomposite coatings exhibited significantly reduced crystal grain size and improved hardness compared to pure Ni coating. Moreover, the increase in TMAB bath concentration led to an improvement in corrosion resistance of the coatings.

Summary: In this study, we analyzed the photometry of an EB-type totally eclipsing binary, 1SWASP J010313.78+352903.7, observed using the Xinglong 85 cm telescope. The results showed that it is a contact binary with a relatively low mass ratio, large fill-out factor, and a large temperature difference. The light curves exhibited asymmetric variations with a maximum variability of about 9%. A double-hot spots model on the surface of the cooler secondary adequately described these variations, indicating growing and evolving hot spots possibly caused by magnetic stellar activity and mass transfer. The large temperature difference between the contact components suggests a shared non-thermal equilibrium common envelope.

The soil in this area had higher levels of water-soluble cations and nitrogen. Analysis of 13 samples of E. saxatilis revealed variability in the content of ephedrine and pseudoephedrine, with some samples containing both compounds, some containing only ephedrine, and one sample containing only pseudoephedrine.

Summary: We present new multi-color light curves of V1309 Her and AS CrB observed by the 60 cm telescope at the Maidanak Astronomical Observatory. The analysis of our BVRCIC light curves combined with atmospheric parameters revealed that both systems are low-mass-ratio overcontact binaries. The periodic oscillations in their O - C curves were found and could be explained by the light travel-time effect of the third bodies.

Summary: Studying massive binaries in various stages of evolution or environments can provide insights into the evolution of these systems. This study focuses on the rarely studied binaries in the Small Magellanic Cloud (SMC), which has lower metallicity compared to our Milky Way. By analyzing the light curves, it was found that OGLE-SMC-ECL-2063 is a high mass ratio and overcontact binary in the SMC. The research on OGLE-SMC-ECL-2063 provides a basis for studying the formation and evolution of early-type contact binaries.

Summary: In this study, the periods of the W UMa contact binary systems HH UMa and V1175 Her were found to show cyclic variations, possibly due to a Light Travel Time Effect induced by a third body. The cyclic variation in HH UMa has a period of about 20 years and may be caused by a third body with a mass larger than 0.23 times the mass of the Sun. The period increase in V1175 Her, with a rate of about 2x10^(-7) days per year, indicates mass transfer from the less massive component to its companion.

Summary: This study investigated the knowledge, attitude, and behavior of pediatric healthcare workers regarding children's palliative care (CPC). The results showed that the overall level of knowledge, attitude, and behavior of the healthcare workers about CPC was moderate. Factors such as working years, highest education, professional title, job position, marital status, religion, grade of hospital, type of medical institution, experience of caring for a terminally ill child/kinsfolk, and total hours of CPC education and training received were found to influence CPC implementation and development. Therefore, it is important to emphasize continuous education and training for healthcare workers in CPC and to focus on the mentioned influencing factors to establish targeted training courses and evaluate post-training effects.

Summary: In this study, a mixed proton and electron conductor hybrid oxide neuromorphic transistor is proposed with the adoption of aqueous solution-processed mesoporous silica coating-based electrolyte as gate dielectric. The device exhibits optical and electrical synergetic coupling behaviors, showing typical synaptic responses and transition between short-term plasticity and long-term plasticity. Furthermore, it demonstrates interesting non-associative learning. The results indicate that the proposed MPEC hybrid oxide neuromorphic transistor has great potential in the field of neuromorphic engineering and could be applied in the bionic visual perception platform.

Summary: Sulfur-containing nanomaterials, such as nano iron sulfide (nFeS), show great promise as nanodrugs for bacterial infection due to their antibacterial activity. However, the inorganic sulfur produced by nFeS can easily change its form or volatilize in aqueous solution, affecting its efficacy. To address this issue, we propose a novel strategy of encapsulating nFeS in a hydrogel to preserve the inorganic sulfides and enhance the interaction between nFeS and bacteria. Our study demonstrates that the nFeS-Hydrogel not only effectively maintains the antibacterial activity, but also exhibits reduced inflammation and excellent biocompatibility. It has great potential as a fast excipient for clearing infection, reducing inflammation, and accelerating wound healing.
