A hybrid nanoreactor comprised of a mesoporous silica head and poly(N-isopropylacrylamide) long chain hairs has been developed. The Ag nanoparticles contained in the regular channels of mesoporous silica are demonstrated to have thermoswitchable catalytic characteristics, which are regulated by the temperature responsive organic long chains.
