Summary: QCPCH is a Schiff base quinoline derivative that serves as a turn-on fluorescent probe for detecting Zn2+ with high selectivity, sensitivity, and rapid response time. The mechanism of sensing Zn2+ is proposed to be based on the combined effects of CHEF and PET, which is further confirmed by various analytical methods.

Summary: A novel turn-on fluorescence probe L has been designed with high selectivity and sensitivity for the quantification of Zn2+, with a detection limit of 9.53 x 10(-8) mol/L. Experimental results showed a 1:1 stoichiometric ratio of the complex formed by L and Zn2+, and strong quenching behavior was observed when Cu2+ displaced Zn2+ to coordinate with probe L.

Summary: A novel fluorescent probe using benzothiazole ring as fluorophore was designed and synthesized for specific recognition of Zn2+ in aqueous solution. The probe exhibited significant fluorescence enhancement response to zinc ions in methanol and aqueous mixed solution, showing high selectivity and sensitivity. Various experimental techniques confirmed a binding ratio of 2:1 between the probe and Zn2+, with a detection limit of 2.85 x 10-8 M. The probe was successfully applied to detect Zn2+ in actual water samples, and a medium-speed filter paper combined with the probe solution was used as an indicator for more convenient and rapid detection. Furthermore, the probe was able to detect Zn2+ in zebrafish, demonstrating its potential in biological applications.

Summary: A highly selective Schiff-type fluorescent probe (SY) with aggregation-induced emission (AIE) characteristics was synthesized, and it exhibited good sensitivity and interference resistance for the detection of Cu2+ in mixed solvents. The probe was successfully applied to the determination of Cu2+ in real water samples with good reversibility and recoveries, and it can also be used for the detection of Cu2+ ions under UV light. The coordination pattern of the probe with Cu2+ and the electronic nature of SY and Cu2+ complexation were evaluated.

Summary: In this work, two non-salen coumarin Schiff base chiral fluorescent probes with outstanding circular dichroic CD signals and weak circularly polarized luminescence (CPL) signals were designed. L1 was found to be a highly sensitive dual detection ion probe for Mg2+ and Zn2+, while also exhibiting recognition ability for the enantiomer of the chiral drug d/l-camphorsulfonate. L2 showed selective recognition ability for Zn2+ ions.

Summary: A novel naphthalene-based schiff base (L) was synthesized as a turn-on fluorescent sensor for Zn2+ detection. The probe exhibited excellent selectivity for Zn2+ over other ions in a DMF/H2O solution, potentially due to the chelation enhanced fluorescence (CHEF) mechanism. The binding constant of the complex was determined to be 1.07 x 105 M-3 with a detection limit of 8.94 x 10-8 M.

Summary: A salicylaldehyde based Schiff base (E)-2-(((3-bromo-4-methylphenyl)imino)methyl)-4-chlorophenol (BMIM) was synthesized and characterized by various spectral techniques. The sensor behavior of BMIM towards Zn2+ ions was investigated using absorption and fluorescence spectra. BMIM showed selective detection of both Zn2+ ions and exhibited enhanced fluorescence intensity compared to other metal ions. The BMIM-Zn2+ complex had a 1:1 binding ratio with octahedral geometry and a limit of detection of 0.47 x 10-6 M.

Summary: This study developed a nanocarrier for siRNA delivery based on a selenocystine analog engineered polyetherimide, achieving traceable siRNA delivery and synergistic killing of tumor cells. By utilizing a label-free fluorescence mechanism, the researchers were able to track siRNA delivery and monitor the local performance of the selenocystine analogs. Additionally, they found that this compound induced tumor cell senescence and achieved synergistic inhibition by delivering siRNA targeting anti-apoptotic genes in senescent cells.

Summary: Two non-nucleoside amide analogues, HL1 and HL2, were synthesized and evaluated for their antiviral efficacy against HSV-1F. The compounds showed lower toxicity compared to the standard antiviral drug Acyclovir, with EC50 values of 37.20μg/ml and 63.4μg/ml for HL1 and HL2 respectively. They blocked the early stage of the HSV-1F life cycle and exhibited promising Selectivity Index values.
