The nano polypropylenimine dendrimer (DAB-PPI-G(1)) Lewis base catalyst was found to be a highly efficient and recoverable catalyst for the rapid and convenient synthesis of 2-amino-2-chromene derivatives through the three-component condensation of aromatic aldehydes, malononitrile or ethyl cyanoacetate and phenols under solvent-free conditions in excellent yields and short reaction times.
