Summary: This study investigated the potential of strawberry extracts to lower blood sugar, improve antioxidant levels and reduce blood lipid levels in diabetic rats. The results showed that treatment with strawberry extract at doses of 250, 500, and 750 mg/kg body weight significantly reduced blood glucose levels, improved renal function and lipid profile, and increased body weight and insulin activity.

Summary: The study investigated the antidiabetic potential of minocycline-modified silver nanoparticles (mino/AgNPs) against alloxan-induced diabetic mice. The mino/AgNPs demonstrated higher radical scavenging activity and significant improvements in fasting blood glucose level and lipid profile in diabetic mice. Histopathological examination confirmed recovery and revival of kidney, liver, and pancreas morphology in diabetic mice treated with mino/AgNPs, suggesting their potential as nanomedicine for diabetes prevention.

Summary: This study aimed to develop a chitosan-grafted mesoporous silica material to enhance drug dissolution and investigate its effects in in vitro and in vivo conditions. The results showed successful loading of the drug into the silica host and no toxic effects on human cell lines. Furthermore, significant reduction in blood glucose was observed after oral administration of the biocomposites, and histopathological studies indicated no adverse effects on kidney and liver.

Summary: The antidiabetic potential of Tradescantia pallida leaves extract and its comparison with the novel nisosome formulation was investigated. Results showed that both the extract and phytoniosomes significantly reduced blood glucose levels in hyperglycemic mice, possibly by inhibiting alpha-amylase and alpha-glucosidase production. Phytoniosomes demonstrated better antidiabetic potential compared to the crude extract.

Summary: Protein Tyrosine Phosphatase 1B (PTP1B) is a negative regulator of insulin signaling pathways and has potential as a medicinal target. This study explores the binding and conformational orientation of zinc(II) complexes in PTP1B using advanced computational methods. The findings suggest that zinc(II) complexes can bind to important residues in the enzyme and inhibit its activity.

Summary: This research evaluated the antidiabetic activity of ethanolic and aqueous extracts of Vitis pedata in alloxan induced rats. The study consisted of two phases: Phase 1 focused on the collection, authentication, and extraction of the plant, while Phase 2 examined the therapeutic effects of the extracts on diabetic rats. The aqueous extract showed a significant reduction in blood glucose levels, lipid profile, and serum biomarkers, similar to the standard treatment, while the ether extract had a lesser effect. The extracts also improved beta cell mass in the pancreas. This study indicates the promising antihyperglycemic activity of Vitis pedata extracts in alloxan induced diabetic rats.
