Summary: This study demonstrates that pretreatment with PIC can alleviate hepatic ischemia-reperfusion (I/R) injury by targeting the TLR4-NF-kappa B-NLRP3 pathway. PIC reduces histopathological changes, oxidative stress, and inflammation, while enhancing antioxidant and anti-inflammatory markers by downregulating the expression of TLR4, p-I kappa B alpha (S32), p-NF-kappa Bp65 (S536), NLRP3, caspase-1 (p20), IL-18, IL-18, and GSDMD-N. Moreover, PIC inhibits the translocation of NF-kappa B p65 after hypoxia/reoxygenation stimulation.

Summary: This article discusses the complicated pathophysiological mechanism of acute kidney injury (AKI) and the lack of effective drugs. It also introduces a newly discovered cell death mode called ferroptosis, which is involved in the progression of AKI. Paeoniflorin (PF), a traditional Chinese medicine, has protective effects on kidney diseases including AKI, but the mechanism of PF in attenuating AKI is unclear.

Summary: This study found that recombinant human thrombomodulin (rTM) can inhibit the formation of neutrophil extracellular traps (NETs), alleviate hepatic ischemia-reperfusion injury (IRI) and improve liver function. rTM blocks multiple signaling pathways to inhibit NETosis. The results suggest that NETs are a potential therapeutic target for hepatic IRI and rTM can be used to prevent liver injury caused by IRI.

Summary: In this study, Cor was found to effectively alleviate intestinal and lung damage caused by intestinal ischemia reperfusion (II/R) by inhibiting NLRP3 inflammasome activation and pyroptosis. This suggests that Cor may be a potential therapeutic agent for inflammation and tissue injury induced by II/R.

Summary: The study demonstrated that diacerein pretreatment can reduce liver enzyme levels, oxidative stress, and hepatic inflammation by down-regulating the TLR4/NF kappa-B signaling pathway to restore the damaging effects of liver I/R. This hepatoprotective effect is attributed to the antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties of diacerein, highlighting its potential as a therapeutic agent for liver I/R injury.

Summary: This study demonstrated that Grpel2 expression is upregulated during myocardial ischemia/reperfusion (I/R) injury. Knockdown of Grpel2 exacerbates mitochondrial fission, cardiomyocyte death, and cardiac contractile dysfunction induced by I/R injury. The study also showed that Grpel2 knockdown increases the expression of MCU and mitochondrial calcium content.

Summary: This study investigates the regulatory mechanism of Danhong injection (DHI) on cerebral autophagy in rats with cerebral ischemia-reperfusion injury. The results show that DHI significantly alters miRNA expression profile in rat brain tissues. After DHI treatment, pathological changes in brain tissues improve and autophagic hippocampal cell vehicles reduce significantly. MiR-132-3p, one of the differentially expressed miRNAs, targets ATG12 and regulates the autophagy signaling pathway.

Summary: Recent research has shown that hypoxia preconditioning can alter the microRNA profile in extracellular vesicles from neurons, leading to better neuroprotection effects. In particular, miR-126-3p plays a crucial role in attenuating IR-induced pain hypersensitivity by modulating the PIK3R2-mediated PI3K/Akt and NF-kappa B signaling pathways in the injured spinal cord.
