Summary: We discuss the generalized exponentials, which play a fundamental role in the inverse functions of generalized entropy formulas with respect to particle-hole (KMS) symmetry. The KMS symmetry is crucial in field theory, so any statistical generalization of the Boltzmann formula-based thermal field theory should consider this property. We demonstrate that Kaniadakis' approach is KMS ready, and explore possible further generalizations.

Summary: The objective of this study is to develop a framework that enables biomedical engineers to assess the diagnostic distortion caused by ECG processing algorithms. A semi-automatic method is proposed to quantify the resemblance between original and denoised/reconstructed ECGs. The framework allows efficient assessment of clinically important diagnostic distortion.

Summary: In the past seven years, Kaniadakis statistics have been applied in reactor physics to obtain generalized nuclear data. This study inserted an analytical solution for the deformed Doppler broadening cross-section into a nuclear data processing code and applied a new computational method to calculate the error functions present in the analytical function. The deformed cross-section data obtained using this method agreed with the expected behavior compared to the Maxwell-Boltzmann.

Summary: This study evaluated the reliability and validity of pain assessment scales in horses undergoing orthopedic and soft tissue surgery. It found that the composite scales UHAPS and CPS were specific but not sensitive, indicating they are suboptimal for assessing postoperative pain and require further refinement. Despite adequate repeatability and criterion validity, the internal consistency and sensitivity of the scales were weak.

Summary: Standard genome-wide association studies (GWASs) analyze single traits at a time, but many human phenotypes are composed of multiple correlated traits. The authors introduce a method called C-GWAS, which combines GWAS summary statistics of multiple potentially correlated traits and shows increased statistical power compared to other methods. Applying C-GWAS to facial GWAS data, they identify loci with multi-trait effects on facial morphology and replicate these findings in additional samples.

Summary: We find a more sophisticated algebraic structure when solitons of different dimensions coexist in the spectrum of a concrete quantum field theory. By evaluating the hopfion charge of vortex operators, we demonstrate the nonexistence of the hopfion U(1) symmetry. We clarify that what conserves hopfion numbers is a noninvertible symmetry generated by 3D spin topological quantum field theories (TQFTs).

Summary: Direct numerical simulation and theoretical analyses suggest that the PDFs of energy dissipation rate and enstrophy in turbulence follow asymptotically stretched gamma distributions with the same stretching exponent. However, the enstrophy PDF has longer tails than the energy dissipation rate PDF regardless of Reynolds number, which is attributed to differences in kinematics and the number of contributing terms. The stretching exponent, on the other hand, is determined by the dynamics and likelihood of singularities.
