Summary: Despite intensive treatment, the prognosis for high-risk neuroblastoma is poor. Using 131-I-metaiodobenzylguanidine (131-I-MIBG) as a treatment for neuroblastoma, especially when combined with chemotherapy at diagnosis, has proven to be highly effective. Including 131-I-MIBG in all induction regimens improves early response rates and consequently long-term survival for patients.

Summary: This study evaluated the efficacy of I-131-MIBG in combination with different radiation sensitizers on patients with relapsed neuroblastoma. The results showed significant modulation of radiation-associated biomarkers after I-131-MIBG treatment, and the extent of modulation was affected by concomitant radiation sensitizers. Blood biomarkers were associated with treatment response and toxicity.

Summary: The research shows that molecular iodine (I-2) and cyclophosphamide (CFF) have potential therapeutic effects on neuroblastoma, inhibiting cell proliferation and enhancing sensitivity to chemotherapy. Additionally, I-2 can reduce tumor formation and decrease the expression of malignant markers.

Summary: This study evaluated the tandem infusions of I-131-metaiodobenzylguanidine (mIBG) and topotecan in children with relapsed/refractory metastatic neuroblastoma (NBL). The results showed that MIITOP had acceptable tolerability in this heavily pretreated population and encouraging survival rates in VHR-NBL when followed by busulfan-melphalan.

Summary: Neuroblastoma is a common cancer in infants with diverse clinical presentations and prognostic factors. Multimodal therapy approaches include chemotherapy, radiotherapy, immunotherapy, and surgical resection. Hyperbaric oxygen therapy is used as a complementary measure to overcome tumor hypoxia.

Summary: This paper presents a clinical trial evaluating the effect of probiotics supplementation on reducing acute side effects of radioiodine therapy in patients with differentiated thyroid cancer (DTC). The study found that probiotics were effective in reducing dry mouth and taste loss or change when administered prior to radioiodine treatment. However, they did not show benefits for other radiation-induced complications. Further large-scale clinical trials are needed to enhance our knowledge in this field.

Summary: Acute myeloid leukemia is a heterogeneous disease with poor survival, and many patient- and leukemia-specific characteristics have been shown to be valuable prognostic factors, with measurable residual disease (MRD) playing a crucial role in prognostic assessment. Multiparameter flow cytometry (MFC) based MRD measurement is currently the most commonly used method, with combinations of different techniques showing promising results in improving its prognostic value.

Summary: The study found that current food-based dietary guidelines (FBDGs) have a strong focus on factors related to health outcomes, especially in the most recent guidelines. However, considerations for environmental impact and socio-cultural aspects of diet are less frequent, especially in older guidelines.

Summary: Combining phages with antibiotics can enhance bacterial clearance and reduce biofilm formation, demonstrating a synergistic effect. Some studies have also shown that antibiotics can induce the production of phages by bacteria. In clinical applications, simultaneous treatment with phages and antibiotics has been found to improve treatment outcomes.

Summary: The study aimed to evaluate the variability in actual administered dose of preprepared I-131 single unit doses for the treatment of hyperthyroidism in cats. Results showed differences in actual administered dose and residual activity compared to the prescribed dose, which should be considered when treating cats.

Summary: Psoriatic arthritis is a complex disease with potential significant disability which can be better managed with the use of dual inhibitor antibodies targeting two different cytokines simultaneously. Evidence suggests that the humanized monoclonal IgG1 antibody bimekizumab, which selectively neutralizes both IL-17A and IL-17F, has shown promising outcomes in the treatment of psoriatic arthritis.

Summary: Inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) is a chronic inflammatory disorder of the small intestine and colon, including ulcerative colitis (UC) and Crohn's disease (CD), which are major factors for the development of colon cancer. Current treatments involve synthetic drugs and monoclonal antibodies with side effects and high relapse rates. Recent studies suggest that curcumin derived from turmeric may be a potential therapeutic agent for IBD, effectively reducing clinical relapse in patients.

Summary: This study analyzed the progress of randomized clinical trials (RCTs) in ischemic stroke and predicted future research directions. It found that a large number of RCTs related to ischemic stroke have been conducted in recent decades, and both the number of articles and their contribution to guidelines are increasing. The study also observed a shift in research topics and regional imbalances.
