Summary: This study aimed to explore the practices of oncology nurses in the management of chemotherapy-related oral mucositis by MASCC/ISOO guidelines. It was found that there were deficiencies in the implementation of written protocols for OM and the use of guidelines, and there were differences between the frequency of oral care, oral care products, and the practices of nurses in the prevention and treatment of OM.

Summary: The study aimed to evaluate the maximum tolerated dose of hypofractionated proton beam radiation therapy with concurrent weekly carboplatin/paclitaxel in patients with stage II-III non-small cell lung cancer. The results showed that the treatment was acutely well tolerated, with high rates of locoregional control and overall survival. Late serious adverse events were noted in some patients outside of the dose-escalation window.

Summary: The early detection and management of prostate cancer has made significant progress in the past decade, focusing on reducing overdiagnosis and overtreatment. Multiparametric magnetic resonance imaging (mpMRI) and PSMA positron emission tomography/computed tomography (PET/CT) play important roles in the diagnostic and treatment process. Active surveillance is recommended for low-risk localized prostate cancer patients to minimize harms from overtreatment. Multimodal therapy is often used for advanced prostate cancer patients.

Summary: The brain is a common site of metastatic disease for patients with advanced melanoma, with treatment approaches including surgery, radiotherapy, and systemic therapy. Management of melanoma brain metastases should involve a multidisciplinary team and consider optimal combinations and sequencing of treatments. It is important to establish appropriate guidelines for the management of melanoma brain metastases and update them regularly as new treatment options become available.

Summary: The hypothesis of using ablative therapies to cure patients with a limited number of metastases has significantly influenced medical practice. Initial studies based on observations showed promising results, but lacked control groups. However, recent randomized trials have provided new evidence, both confirming previous hypotheses and raising new questions.

Summary: This systematic review aims to evaluate the clinical efficacy of different combinations of CCRTs and consolidation therapies. Traditional meta-analysis and network meta-analysis methods will be used to analyze the data. The primary endpoints include overall survival and progression-free survival, while secondary outcomes include tumor response and health-related quality of life. The results of this study will be published in a peer-reviewed journal.

Summary: RRR is an uncommon phenomenon known to oncologists, characterized by tissue damage in a previous irradiation portal being 'recalled' after drug administration, with skin being the most commonly affected tissue. RRR are generally mild and self-limiting, with the trigger drug cessation being the main treatment measure.

Summary: This study evaluated the safety and efficacy of radiation therapy among HER2-positive breast cancer patients receiving adjuvant trastuzumab emtansine or paclitaxel plus trastuzumab. The results showed that radiation therapy was well-tolerated when given concurrently with either T-DM1 or TH, and hypofractionation resulted in lower grade >= 2 acute skin toxicity in BCS patients.

Summary: This systematic review evaluated the impact of early oral feeding (EOF) compared to traditional timing of oral feeding following major upper gastrointestinal cancer surgery. The findings showed that EOF reduced postoperative length of stay without increasing complications, but did not provide clear conclusions on nutritional status and quality of life. Further research is needed to determine the optimal timing and type of EOF for UGI cancer patients.

Summary: Dietitians showed high rates of guideline implementation and positive perceptions for its use in clinical practice. However, perceptions of guideline awareness and use among multidisciplinary team colleagues were relatively low. Future implementation strategies should involve a wider multidisciplinary team and more experienced clinicians in order to enhance guideline utilization.

Summary: Ginger (Zingiber officinale) has potential therapeutic effects on chronic conditions and symptoms in humans, but there is a lack of simplified examination on the underlying mechanisms, hindering interpretation and translation to practice. This comprehensive review confirms the mechanisms of ginger, such as reducing inflammation, lowering blood pressure, regulating blood lipid profile, aiding glycemic control, weight management, and reducing nausea and vomiting. Further human trials are needed to confirm its other effects and understand its therapeutic effects better.

Summary: Malnutrition is a global health concern that affects patient outcomes, hospital stay duration, and healthcare costs. While there is extensive research on undernutrition in hospitalized patients, data on overnutrition is limited. This study examines the prevalence of both under and overnutrition in a hospitalized population and evaluates the dietetic care provided to obese patients using the Nutrition Care Process Model. The findings reveal a high prevalence of overweight and obese patients, lower malnutrition risk profiles in these patients, and a lack of nutrition diagnosis following the recommended model.
