Summary: This study discusses the peripheral mechanism of Cancer-induced bone pain (CIBP), including tissue injury in the bone, changes in the tumor microenvironment, and the role of the dorsal root ganglion. The interaction between nerve-cancer cells and cancer-immunocytes in the tumor microenvironment leads to the development of CIBP.

Summary: The P2Y12 receptor (P2Y12R) plays a crucial role in platelet function and thrombosis, and recent research has discovered its involvement in tumor progression and cancer pain. This suggests that P2Y12R could serve as a potential target for anticancer therapy.

Summary: A growing body of evidence suggests that intractable pain reduces both the quality of life and survival in cancer patients. In this study, chronic pain stimuli were found to directly affect cancer pathology in tumor-bearing mice. Activation of sensory neurons promoted tumor growth by increasing the expression of sensory-located peptides and growth factors.

Summary: Gynecological malignancy is a leading cause of death in women, and chronic cancer pain poses a significant physical and psychological burden on affected patients. Early identification, assessment, and standardized management of this pain are crucial. This review provides an overview of the pathological factors and underlying mechanisms of pain in gynecological cancer patients. It also summarizes treatment modalities targeting pain management and emphasizes the importance of multidisciplinary care.

Summary: More than 80% of cancer patients experience cancer-related pain, which is difficult to manage, especially in the advanced stage. Recent evidence suggests that aromatherapy using essential oils can effectively reduce the intensity of cancer pain. This systematic review and meta-analysis evaluated the efficacy of aromatherapy in clinical studies on cancer pain and found significant benefits. However, more standardized and well-designed clinical trials are needed to establish a stronger evidence base for the use of essential oils in integrative oncology. Summary: Colorectal cancer is the third most common malignant tumor globally, and the complement system of the immune system plays a significant role in combating cancer. This review discusses complement system activation in CRC and its interactions with TME components, providing a framework for further understanding the potential therapies targeting complement activation in solid tumors such as CRC.

Summary: The study found that moderate/severe sleep disturbance before radiation therapy in breast cancer patients is significantly associated with increased pain post-RT. Patients with sleep disturbance were younger, more likely to undergo mastectomy and chemotherapy, and had higher levels of depression/anxiety disorder and fatigue pre-RT compared to the control group.

Summary: Perineural invasion (PNI) is the process of tumor invasion and interaction with nerves, causing dynamic changes and disturbing symptoms. PNI-related cancer pain in neuro-rich tumors is closely related to nerve invasion in the tumor microenvironment, and can indicate the occurrence of PNI, guide treatment strategies, and predict tumor resectability and the need for palliative care.

Summary: The human motor system has the capacity to act as an internal form of analgesia through either indirect or direct activation of the motor axis. Current research focuses on evaluating the effects of motor activation on acute and chronic pain, providing a basis for reducing pain symptom loads for patients. Future research directions in this area are also proposed.

Summary: Inflammation plays a crucial role in tumor progression. Prokineticin 2 is involved in tumor growth, angiogenesis, and metastasis. In addition to its function as an angiogenic factor and a mediator of immune cell migration, prokineticin 2 also suppresses tumor cell apoptosis, promotes their proliferation and movements necessary for metastasis. It is also associated with tumor pain and resistance responses, and may serve as a potential prognostic tumor biomarker.

Summary: Ultrasound imaging and focused ultrasound therapy play crucial roles in cancer diagnosis, pain reduction, surgical resection guidance, and chemotherapy effectiveness. This study conducted a bibliometric analysis to examine the growth trend and future prospects in the research field encompassing ultrasound, cancer management, pain, and related challenges. Using data from the Web of Science, a total of 3248 documents from 1100 journal sources were analyzed, with 390 articles published in 2022, demonstrating an almost 100% growth rate compared to previous years. Network analysis suggests that continuous research in this domain will significantly improve patient care for various diseases, including cancer and its co-morbidities.

Summary: The study investigated the peripheral neural mechanisms between cancer-induced pain (CIP) and neuropathic pain (NEP) models, finding that both models exhibit spontaneous pain, with a more significant increase in spontaneous activity (SA) of C-fiber sensory neurons in CIP compared to NEP models. The differences and similarities in spontaneous pain between CIP and NEP rats are related to the proportion and rate of SA in C-fibers, respectively.

Summary: Colorectal cancer (CRC) is a heterogeneous and deadly disease, and recent research has shown that it is actually a group of diseases rather than a single disease. The microsatellite instability (MSI) and consensus molecular subtypes (CMS) systems have prognostic and predictive roles in early-stage CRC. A new subtyping system named stage supervised CRC subtypes (SSCS) has been developed to better stratify CRC patients based on stage.
