Summary: Legumain is overexpressed in several cancers and serves as an important biomarker for cancer diagnosis. In this study, a novel radioactive tracer [F-18]SF-AAN was designed and synthesized for positron emission tomography (PET) imaging, targeting legumain. The tracer showed specificity in detecting legumain activity in vitro and in vivo, making it a promising tool for the diagnosis of legumain-related diseases.

Summary: This study retrospectively assessed the evolution of administered radiotracer activity for F-18-fluorodeoxyglucose PET/CT or PET/MR in pediatric patients between 2000 and 2021. The results showed that children have benefited from a significant reduction in the administered F-18-FDG dose over the past 20 years without compromising objective image quality.

Summary: This study aimed to reassess the clinical significance of standardized uptake values (SUVs) in nasopharyngeal carcinoma (NPC) on F-18-fluorodeoxyglucose (F-18-FDG) positron-emission tomography (PET). The results showed that high SUVs were associated with cancer recurrence, and the SUVmax-NTR ratio was identified as a potential prognostic factor.

Summary: This study evaluated the prognostic significance of combined use of FDG and FLT PET/CT in MM patients, showing that PET/CT can predict patient prognosis and that FDG+; FLT- patients have better EFS compared to other groups.

Summary: This study aimed to investigate the distribution patterns and regional vulnerability of tau pathology in patients with PSP using F-18-Florzolotau PET imaging, and to devise a novel image-based staging system. The findings showed that F-18-Florzolotau PET imaging can effectively capture the distribution patterns and regional vulnerability of tau pathology in PSP patients. The F-18-Florzolotau modified staging system holds promise for early tracking of tau deposition in living brains.

Summary: The research focuses on developing a PET radiotracer for monitoring the expression and occupancy of the non-dopaminergic target A(2A) receptor in Parkinson's disease therapy. Novel fluorinated analogs are designed and evaluated in preclinical studies, showing specific in vitro binding to A(2A)R but no specific in vivo binding in dynamic PET/MRI studies.

Summary: The heterogeneous uptake of both F-18 FDG and C-11 methionine on PET/CT in renal cell carcinomas is associated with higher grades of cancer. The metabolic tumour volume on F-18 FDG PET/CT but not C-11 methionine PET/CT is significant in predicting advanced-stage renal cell carcinoma. These metabolic features derived from PET/CT imaging may aid in the development of new drugs targeting glucose and amino acid metabolic pathways.

Summary: In this study, we developed a novel quantification method using PET/CT and shape feature to discriminate between Alzheimer's disease and mild cognitive impairment or other precursors dementia. We calculated the cerebral amyloid smoothing score and brain atrophy index using PET images, and gray and white matter from trained CT data. Our results showed that shape feature had similar accuracy to standard uptake values in ROC analysis, and correlated well with neuropsychological tests. This suggests that shape feature is useful in the diagnosis of Alzheimer's disease.

Summary: This article reviews the use of [F-18]ML-10 as a radiotracer for evaluating tumor response to treatment through apoptosis. While most studies suggest its good ability to target apoptotic cells, an increase in apoptosis during treatment did not correlate with the radiotracer tumoral uptake.

Summary: This study investigated the patterns of metabolic abnormalities using [F-18]FDG PET in MTLE patients with different pathologic types. It was found that MTLE patients with isolated gliosis had the worst prognosis and exhibited significant hypometabolism in the insula. Therefore, hypometabolic regions should be prioritized for presurgical evaluation of MTLE patients rather than focusing solely on metabolic uptake values.
