This review wishes to elucidate the tremendous importance advanced jet science and technology plays in tissue engineering and regenerative biology/medicine (TERBM). There are several approaches for forming three-dimensional tissues or organs, however in keeping with the demand for living microenvironments, advanced jet-based sciences have demonstrated the least number of steps (pre-and post-processing) required for directly forming multi-cellular three-dimensional, fully functional constructs. These jet-based discoveries are not only a hallmark for TERBM but have pushed back the frontiers of science and technology for jet-sciences. We believe that such approaches could have far reaching ramifications on our healthcare, and demonstrate jet science as a powerful enabling biotechnology for TERBM.
