Al foam having a substrate with a harmonic structure that exhibits high strength and ductile deformation by adding Cu was fabricated by sintering and dissolution process. In addition, Al2Cu IMC was generated in situ during sintering which is expected to increase the strength of the surrounding shell. (C) 2018 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved.
