In this work, CdMoO4 nanorods (NRs) have been successfully synthesized via a facile microwave-assisted hydrothermal method, and further applied as an intriguing catalyst for photocatalytic degradation of methyl orange (MO). The effect of different surfactants upon their structure, morphology, UV-vis absorption and photocatalytic properties was also systematically investigated. The CdMoO4 NRs demonstrate the excellent photocatalytic degradation efficiency over MO under UV light irradiation. (c) 2013 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved.
