Summary: Mesoporous silica microspheres (MPSMs) are prepared using p(GMA-co-EDMA) as hard templates with different porosity and surface functionalization. The incorporation of GMA into the template is determined by a PLS-R model based on FTIR spectra. Silica nanoparticles (SNPs) are deposited into the template and subsequently removed by calcination to form MPSMs with different pore parameters. The pore structure and separation properties of the silica particles are determined by the pore characteristics and functionalization of the template.

Summary: Hollow mesoporous silica nanospheres were synthesized using pentablock copolymer templates under acidic aqueous conditions, with tetraethyl orthosilicate as the silica precursor. The structure could be tuned by using different length pentablock copolymer templates, resulting in variations in pore structure and morphology. The samples demonstrated hydrothermal stability and the formation of hollow mesopore structures under room temperature conditions.

Summary: This study successfully prepared Au nanostructures through electrodeposition using mesoporous silica films as hard templates. By optimizing the conditions, pores with sizes below 10 nm were controlled, and the growth of nanostructures was initiated at the electrode surface. The hard templates and Au electrodeposits were characterized using various methods. Finally, the silica templates were removed and stable Au nanoparticles on different electrode surfaces were achieved.

Summary: This study demonstrates that achiral dumbbell-shaped colloids can assemble into various liquid crystal phases, including blue phase III. Phase diagrams show that the existence and stability of liquid crystal phases depend on the geometrical parameters of colloids. This work opens a new route for the design and construction of blue phases in photonic applications.

Summary: Nanostructured semiconductors have diverse electronic and optical properties compared to bulk materials, making them significant. Ordered porous materials can be used as templates to prepare nanostructured materials, with high-pressure chemical vapor deposition (HPCVD) being effective in depositing germanium within the small pore network of KIT-5 mesoporous silica. This technique allows for smooth and continuous deposition, producing both crystalline and amorphous materials for various uses.

Summary: High-performance liquid chromatography is a crucial analytical tool for identifying and separating substances. Monodisperse mesoporous silica microspheres (MPSM) are commonly used as stationary phases, but their tailored preparation is challenging. This study successfully synthesized four MPSMs using the hard template method. The size, morphology, and pore properties of the MPSMs were controlled by the solvent used during preparation, and they exhibited comparable separation behavior to commercially available columns in reversed-phase chromatography.

Summary: Mesoporous low dielectric polyimide films were prepared by incorporating controlled hollow mesoporous SiO2 nanomicrospheres. The addition of hollow mesoporous SiO2 improved the thermal stability, mechanical properties, and hydrophobicity of the composite films, leading to a decrease in dielectric constant.

Summary: Nanopores have various applications in biocatalysis, drug delivery, and sensing devices. The interaction between biomacromolecules and surfaces is influenced by nanopore diameter, which is important for their infiltration into porous materials. We present a novel approach for synthesizing large-pore mesoporous silica thin films (MTF) through supramolecular templating and phase separation using block copolymers. The tunability of pore size distribution is achieved through reversible addition-fragmentation chain transfer (RAFT) polymerization.

Summary: Using unsupported catalysts improves stability and durability in electrochemical reactions due to the non-corrosive carbon component. Advanced mesoporous structures with controlled pore and metal composition at the nanoscale were created. Rigid template-assisted synthesis was used to produce mesoporous platinum and platinum bimetallic catalysts, eliminating the carbon corrosion problem and enhancing catalyst activity.

Summary: Mechanochemical synthesis methods offer an alternative to liquid solvent-based processes, with the potential for industrial use due to their simplicity, scalability, and environmental friendliness. TiO2 photocatalytic nanoparticles can be synthesized with controlled size and crystalline structure, and their bandgap can be modified by carbon doping for visible light photocatalytic activity. Such nanoparticles can also stabilize emulsions and serve as templates for preparing macroporous photocatalytic materials.
