Summary: The U.S. offshore wind energy industry is projected to grow a thousand-fold, and traditional 2D media is ineffective in addressing public concerns. Immersive multimodal media, such as virtual reality, provide more accurate information and lead to more positive attitudes towards wind projects.

Summary: Conservation outreach activities are important for changing local attitudes and awareness, but their effectiveness is often not evaluated. The study found that negative messages were more common than positive ones in past outreach activities, and male interviewees and those with higher education levels were more knowledgeable about these activities. The Hainan gibbon, compared to other threatened species, received more attention, and reporting past outreach activities was associated with an increased likelihood of knowing that gibbons were threatened.

Summary: Infectious diarrhea is caused by various pathogens, and recent research has focused on the application of culture-independent diagnostic tests (CIDT). Current clinical guidelines recommend CIDTs as adjuncts to diagnosing acute and chronic diarrhea. These methods include microscopy, enzyme-based immunoassays, and molecular-based polymerase chain reaction.

Summary: Filoviruses, including Ebola virus, pose an increasing threat to public health. The structure of the Ebola virus L protein in complex with VP35 has been determined, revealing potential targets for anti-filovirus drugs. Additionally, suramin has been found to inhibit the activity of the Ebola virus polymerase.

Summary: Creative media advertising is a specific type of unconventional advertising that uses regular physical objects to carry advertising messages. This study conducted a meta-analysis to understand the effects and mechanisms of this type of advertising. The results show that exposure to creative media advertising has a positive overall effect on brand association strength and persuasion. The effects are stronger when the physical object used is a good metaphor for the message, and indirect exposure to the message through social media or printed pictures enhances brand association strength.

Summary: This research demonstrates that people are perceived as less powerful when they use pictures rather than words. This effect is consistent across different types of pictures (company logos, emojis, and photographs) and in various usage contexts (clothing prints, written messages, and Zoom profiles). The study also reveals that the use of pictures signals a stronger desire for social proximity, which is associated with lower power.
