Summary: The study found that MaR concentrations were decreased in the plasma of CRSwNP patients, while increased in nasal secretions. The concentrations of these mediators were positively correlated with quality-of-life scores in the patients. MaR1 was shown to regulate the activation of peripheral blood phagocytes in CRSwNP patients, potentially limiting the local inflammatory response.

Summary: A sensitive method was developed to determine the concentration of buserelin in blood plasma and investigate its pharmacokinetic parameters after intramuscular administration in pigs and cows. The study found differences in the pharmacokinetics of buserelin between pigs and cows, suggesting the need for further research to establish treatment protocols.

Summary: This study aimed to investigate the distribution of enrofloxacin (ERFX) in the bronchoalveolar region of pigs. Six healthy pigs were treated with either a single dose of 5 mg/kg or 7.5 mg/kg ERFX. Samples of plasma and bronchoalveolar lavage fluid (BALF) were collected at different time points. The results showed that ERFX concentrations in pulmonary epithelial lining fluid (ELF) and BALF cells were higher than those in the plasma, indicating a good distribution of intramuscularly injected ERFX in the bronchoalveolar region.

Summary: The study indicated that a previously identified mutation affecting IMF and meat color in pigs did not have a significant effect on these traits in various pig populations. Further research is needed to identify the causal mutation for the IMF QTL on SSC12.

Summary: This study aimed to investigate the effects of L-arginine administration on testicular hemodynamics, echogenicity, and hormone levels in heat-stressed rams. The results showed that L-arginine treatment significantly improved testicular blood flow, increased testosterone and nitric oxide concentrations in the rams. These findings suggest that L-arginine has potential benefits for improving reproductive function in heat-stressed animals.

Summary: This study compared the maintenance time of free flucloxacillin concentration above the minimum inhibitory concentration in soft and bone tissue after intravenous and oral administration in a porcine model. The results showed that intravenous administration achieved longer fT > MIC compared to oral administration, particularly in maintaining the concentration for bone tissue.

Summary: Investigation of gene expression profiles in blood of young healthy pigs revealed associations with disease resilience, growth rate, health scores, mortality, and feed conversion rate. Genes involved in stress response, heme metabolism, and viral gene expression were found to be associated with host response to disease.

Summary: The study compared the bioavailability and safety of CE-fosphenytoin sodium, fosphenytoin sodium, and phenytoin sodium in intravenous and intramuscular administration. The results showed that CE-fosphenytoin sodium can be a promising substitute for fosphenytoin sodium and has similar pharmacokinetic characteristics.
