The pK (a) constants and relative abundances of unionized and ionized forms of Montelukast sodium {the sodium salt of 2-[1-[[(1R)-1-[3-[2-(7-chloroquinolin-2-yl)ethenyl] phenyl]-3-[2-(2-hydroxypropan-2-yl)phenyl]propyl]sulfanylmethyl]cyclopropyl]acetic acid} and Levodropropizine {(2S)-3-(4-phenylpiperazin-1-yl)propane-1,2-diol} were determined potentiometrically from measurements at various pHs. These determinations were in order to relate their pK (a) values with their bioavailability and to provide chemical data to be used in their analysis.

Summary: A new deep eutectic solvent (DES) composed of tetrabuthylammonium bromide (TBABr) and 1-octanol at a 1:2 molar ratio was prepared and characterized, and used as an extraction solvent for E127 in blood, urine, pharmaceutical tablet, and syrup samples. The combination of DES-UA-LLME and UV-Vis spectrophotometric detection allows for accurate determination of E127 in various sample matrices.

Summary: A fast LC-APCI-MS/MS screening/confirmation method was developed and validated for trace analyses of explosives and organic gun shot residues in soil and on hands. Tape-lifting was chosen as the best residue collection method and a gradient elution system was developed. The method was validated and applied to real samples for quantitative analysis.

Summary: In this study, a method combining deep eutectic solvent-based ultrasound-assisted liquid-liquid microextraction (DES-UA-LLME) and high-performance liquid chromatography-ultraviolet visible detection system was developed for accurate and sensitive determination of ibuprofen in various samples. The developed method offers the advantage of determining ibuprofen without interfering with the matrix environment of different samples.

Speedy Gonzales analysis method in one drop of beverage, for crimes committed with drugs from three different groups

Beril Anilanmert, Fatma Cavus Yonar

Summary: A 15 min dilute-and-shoot analysis method was developed for the simultaneous confirmation and quantification of sertraline, zolpidem and fentanyl in fruit juice residues. The method used liquid chromatography tandem mass spectrometry and a C-18 phenomenex column. The method is important for emergency-toxicology cases and drug facilitated crimes, as it can determine the combined or single use of these drugs and identify reasons for related deaths.
