Summary: In this study, the ontogeny of the digestive system of silver pomfret was investigated from hatching to 50 days post-hatching. The findings suggest that weaning could potentially begin at 15-20 days post-hatching, which would reduce the reliance on live food and improve larval rearing protocols.

Summary: The study showed that in crabs from highly contaminated areas, cadmium bioaccumulation, oxidative stress, and hormone levels were higher compared to those from lightly contaminated areas, while the transcripts of crustacean hyperglycemic hormone and molt-inhibiting hormone decreased.

Summary: The study on white snook revealed significant variations in digestive enzyme activity at different developmental stages, with distinct performance of acid and alkaline proteases in larval period. The impact of different inhibitors on enzyme activity also differed, providing valuable insights for formulating aquafeeds for white snook.

Summary: The study evaluated the influence of different protein and lipid levels in the diet on the nutritional needs and growth of early juveniles of Pseudoplatystoma punctifer. The results showed that a diet with higher protein and lipid content promoted better growth and survival, with lipids favored over carbohydrates as an energy source. Excessive carbohydrate content led to unbalanced lipid metabolism and fat deposition in the liver.

Summary: This study investigated the effects of plant protein concentrates on the activity of digestive enzymes and microscopic structure of the intestine of juvenile lumpfish. The results showed that replacing some fishmeal with plant protein concentrates had a certain impact on the intestinal morphology of the fish, but did not affect their growth and enzyme activities.

Summary: This study investigated the biochemical characteristics of key digestive enzymes in artificially produced Pacific bluefin tuna juveniles, revealing that long-term feeding of a commercial diet could significantly increase the storage/synthesis levels of digestive enzymes, while short-term feeding of the same diet resulted in faster gastric emptying and increased storage/synthesis levels of digestive enzymes.

Summary: This study provides a comprehensive description of the digestive tract of the cardinal tetra Paracheirodon axelrodi. The results show that the anatomical arrangement and histological features of the digestive tract, including the adjacent glands and pyloric caeca, are similar to other species of the Characidae family. The intestinal coefficient (Ci) calculated for P. axelrodi suggests that it is a carnivorous species.

Summary: The ontogenetic development of the digestive tract and associated organs of Lethrinus lentjan larvae was studied through changes in external morphology, histology, and enzymatic changes. It was found that the digestive system development can be divided into three stages, with the best weaning time being around 19-20 days for optimal digestive capacity.

Summary: The present study aimed to evaluate the feasibility of using a formulated diet as feed for Siniperca chuatsi. The results showed that the formulated diet had a lower feed conversion ratio compared to live baits. However, it did not significantly affect the final body weight and weight gain of the fish. The formulated diet had no significant impact on muscle nutrition composition and digestive enzyme activities, but showed superiority in fatty acid composition.
