Summary: A previously undescribed dihydrobenzofuran neolignan, along with eleven known phenolic derivatives, were isolated from the roots of Actinidia valvata Dunn. Extensive spectroscopic analysis and comparison with existing data were used to identify the chemical structures. The chemotaxonomic significance of these secondary metabolites was also discussed.

Summary: Resin AB-8 was found to have better decoloration and deproteinization efficiency for polysaccharide from Actinidia valvata (AvPs). The optimized parameters were determined as a concentration of 3 mg/mL, an adsorption time of 40 minutes, an initial pH of 7.0, and a flow rate of 1.5 BV/h. The treatment with resin AB-8 did not break the sugar chain, structural group, monosaccharide composition, and triple-helix conformation structure of AvPs, and AvPs maintained their stability and exhibited antioxidant and anticancer activities in vitro. This method shows promise for the deproteinization and decolorization of AvPs for use as potential antioxidant or anticancer agents in functional food or medicine.

Summary: Flavonoids, including isoorientin, orientin, vitexin, and isovitexin, were successfully extracted and enriched from bamboo leaves extraction residues using macroporous resins. The XAD-7HP resin showed the best adsorption and desorption performance and was selected for further evaluation. Dynamic resin column chromatography achieved a 4.5-fold increase in the content of the four flavonoids, with recoveries ranging from 72.86% to 88.21%. In addition, chlorogenic acid with a purity of 95.1% was obtained during the separation process. This method provides a rapid and efficient way to utilize bamboo leaves extraction residues for the production of high-value-added food and pharmaceutical products.

Summary: In this study, an effective method for the simultaneous separation of prim-O-glucosylcimifugin, cimifugin, and 5-O-methylvisamminoside with high purities was established using HPD-300 resin coupled with preparative high-performance liquid chromatography. The experimental results showed that the HPD-300 resin is suitable for the separation of chromone derivatives, and the purities of the three compounds reached more than 95% after further separation.
