Summary: The study revealed that the upregulation of certain cytochrome P450 genes is associated with spirotetramat resistance in A. gossypii, and some lncRNAs may regulate the expression of these P450 genes to affect resistance. These findings provide a molecular basis for further investigating cotton aphid P450 genes and lncRNA functions in spirotetramat resistance development.

Summary: In this study, we investigated the role of CYP6CX2 and CYP6CX3 in mediating whitefly thiamethoxam resistance. Our results showed that the mRNA levels of these two genes were up-regulated after exposure to thiamethoxam. Transcriptional levels were overexpressed in resistant strains and positively correlated with resistance levels. Silencing these genes increased whitefly susceptibility to thiamethoxam. These findings provide insights into the role of cytochrome P450 monooxygenases in neonicotinoid resistance and suggest their potential as target genes for pest management.

Summary: The study revealed that the overexpression of the CYP4G19 gene in field-collected German cockroaches was significantly higher than that of susceptible strains, and it was negatively correlated with mortality rates after treatments with imidacloprid and fipronil. However, no correlation was found between CYP4G19 gene expression and mortality rates after treatments with indoxacarb and hydramethylnon. Indoxacarb and hydramethylnon baits were highly effective against field strains. This study also provided evidence of cross-resistance to imidacloprid and fipronil in pyrethroid-resistant German cockroaches due to overexpression of CYP4G19.

Summary: Cytochrome P450 monooxygenases (CYP450s) are crucial in the synthesis and breakdown of secondary metabolites in eukaryotes, especially in plants and fungi. CYP505E3 from Aspergillus terreus demonstrates remarkable omega-7 hydroxylase activity, making it a promising catalyst for delta-dodecalactone synthesis. Other CYP505Es also display similar activity, but their occurrence is limited to certain species like Aspergillus and Penicillium.

Summary: This study uncovered the role of the CYP6CY14 and CYP6DC1 genes in the development of clothianidin resistance in the cotton-melon aphid. Silencing these genes increased the sensitivity of the aphids to clothianidin, indicating their involvement in detoxification mechanisms. These findings emphasize the importance of these genes in insecticide resistance development.

Summary: The study identified and characterized two cytochrome P450 monooxygenase genes, CsCYP6SN3 and CsCYP306A1, associated with the lethal effect of vetiver against C. suppressalis larvae. Inhibition of these genes significantly reduced pupation rate and pupa weight in the pests.

Summary: In this study, the enantioselectivity of multiple enzymes involved in monoterpenoid biosynthesis in peppermint and Japanese catnip was investigated. The experimental results showed that these enzymes exhibited different enantioselectivity towards intermediates of the pathway, and molecular modeling studies supported the experimental data. This study lays the groundwork for further structure-function studies on the origin of enantioselectivity in closely related species of the Lamiaceae.

Summary: The expression of OsCYP714D1 gene improved salt tolerance in transgenic poplar plants by regulating gibberellin and ion homeostasis, resulting in increased plant height, K+ content, and decreased growth inhibition and Na+ content under high salt stress conditions. Transcriptomic analyses revealed up-regulation of GA biosynthesis, signaling, and stress responsive genes in transgenic plants, while gene ontology analyses indicated enrichment of genes involved in plant hormone and ion metabolic activities in the transgenic plants. OsCYP714D1 can be used as a candidate gene for engineering new tree varieties with improved biomass production and salt stress resistance.

Summary: This study investigated the roles of miR-279-3p and its target gene CYP325BB1 in deltamethrin resistance in Culex pipiens pallens. The findings showed that miR-279-3p suppresses CYP325BB1 expression, reducing deltamethrin resistance and increasing mosquito mortality. These results provide important insights for future mosquito control strategies.
