Summary: This study compared sperm quality, DNA integrity, embryo development, and clinical outcomes between sperm samples prepared using Microfluidic Sperm Sorting (MSS) and Direct Swim Up (DSU) methods for intracytoplasmic sperm injection (ICSI). The results showed that MSS significantly improved sperm quality parameters and clinical outcomes compared to DSU.

Summary: The study of 1339 couples undergoing 2759 IVF/ICSI cycles showed that high SDF did not affect reproductive success of unselected couples using autologous oocytes in IVF/ICSI cycles.

Summary: Benzophenone-type ultraviolet (UV) filters (BPs) are commonly used in sunscreens, fragrances, and plastics, but they pose a great threat to aquatic organisms. This study investigated the toxicity and mechanism of BPs in Chinese rare minnows and found that they caused significant alterations in cell cycle, DNA replication, and repair pathways, as well as DNA damage and apoptosis.

Summary: The study found a weak correlation between free and total 25(OH)VitD, and in infertile females undergoing IVF or ICSI treatment, free 25(OH)VitD showed slight correlations with fertility parameters.

Summary: The study revealed that prednisolone does not have developmental toxicity on rat embryos with a maximum safe dose of 20 μg/ml, while azathioprine showed toxicity and teratogenic effects starting at 1 μg/ml. Mycophenolate mofetile exhibited dose-dependent toxic and teratogenic effects at doses lower than normal clinical ones.

Summary: The microfluidic sperm selection method was found to improve the outcomes of in vitro fertilization (IVF) procedures. This method, which selects spermatozoa with the lowest DNA fragmentation rate, resulted in higher blastocyst rates and clinical pregnancy rates. It has the potential to be widely used in intracytoplasmic sperm injection (ICSI) and improve the workflow of standard IVF, reducing intervention by laboratory personnel and providing more consistent incubation conditions.

Summary: Ethyl-4-bromophenylcarbamate (LQM 919) and ethyl-4-chlorophenylcarbamate (LQM 996) have the ability to induce apoptosis in Rhipicephalus microplus ovarian cells, as well as tick and mammalian cell cultures, displaying a significant acaricidal effect.

Summary: The study found that IMSI and ICSI resulted in embryos with similar morphokinetics, but IMSI had a lower incidence of multinucleation compared to ICSI. However, neither method showed an improvement in the proportion of chromosomally euploid embryos.

Summary: This study analyzed eight techniques assessing chromatin damage in pig sperm and found that the extent of chromatin damage is significantly correlated with the percentage of sperm with fragmented DNA in direct methods, but not in indirect ones. The results suggest that there are differences in interpreting sperm chromatin damage between indirect and direct techniques.

Summary: The intracytoplasmic sperm injection (ICSI) technique was invented to address severe male infertility caused by altered sperm parameters. It is now widely used worldwide for couple infertility treatment. ICSI can be performed using any available spermatozoon, regardless of motility, morphology, or quantity. Published data shows that ICSI accelerates zygote kinetics and leads to higher fertilization rates and more blastocysts for clinical use compared to conventional IVF. Various sperm and spermatozoa characteristics, such as parameters, morphology, vitality, DNA content, RNA content, epigenetics, and recovery site, have different impacts on fertilization, blastocyst rates, and embryo kinetics. While ICSI is the most common solution for couple infertility, understanding the causes of male infertility is crucial for producing competent spermatozoa that contribute to normal embryonic development and healthy offspring.

Summary: The number of frozen embryo transfer cycles in Europe has been steadily increasing, with immediate FET potentially leading to higher live birth and pregnancy rates compared to postponed FET. However, more high-quality evidence from randomized controlled trials is needed to confirm these findings and determine the best clinical practice.

Summary: This study investigated the physiological changes in Macrobrachium rosenbergii under acute salinity stress and found that hemolymph osmolality increased, physiological metabolism decreased, antioxidant capacity and immune capacity weakened, and apoptosis increased. These findings provide important insights into the mechanisms underlying the response to acute salinity stress and will contribute to improving the aquaculture and management practices of M. rosenbergii.
