Summary: This study aims to investigate the possibility of making a hybrid composite bio-degradable by combining synthetic and natural fibers. By reinforcing alkali treated Cordia Dichotoma and carbon fibers into epoxy resin, several combinations of specimens were prepared and their mechanical properties were compared. It was found that the hybrid composite had slightly lower tensile strength, flexural strength, and impact energy compared to the composite with pure carbon fiber, but it still exhibited acceptable mechanical properties. The interfacial bonding between the fibers and matrix as well as the arrangement of fibers were studied using a scanning electron microscope.

Summary: In this study, bisphenol A aniline based benzoxazine was reinforced with natural Arundo donax L. fibers treated in different ways at various loadings to investigate the dynamic mechanical properties, morphological stability, and thermal stability of the composites. The results showed that composites reinforced by alkali- or combined-treated fibers exhibited higher storage and loss moduli, indicating great enhancement in properties, likely due to improved fiber-matrix adhesion and compatibility. Additionally, the thermal behavior and char yield of the composites were significantly influenced by the nature of the chemical treatment used on the natural reinforcements.

Summary: GO@PVP/PEO polymeric blend-based nano-composites were prepared using the LASER irradiation technique. The study found that the crystallinity decreased with increasing GO content, and there was interaction between PVP/PEO and GO. The band-gap decreased with the increase of GO content, and the surface morphology became rougher. The size of GO clumps decreased with increasing GO content. Additionally, the activation energy decreased, indicating an increase in the number of bonds between the polymer and graphene oxide. These findings are significant for the optical and electrical devices industries.

Summary: This study introduced a method for calculating resin content using thermogravimetric analysis (TGA) for carbon fiber/ poly (ether ether ketone) (CF/PEEK) composites. The TGA curves and DTG curves were divided into four stages, and the resin content was accurately obtained from the transitional stage and stable stage. Results compared with other methods showed that the TGA method was suitable for resin fraction calculation with slight difference.
