Summary: The study showed that COB and/or CAL played an important protective role in TAMO-induced renal injury by inhibiting NF-kappa beta-mediated inflammation and caspase-3-induced apoptosis. The combination treatment of these two vitamins had a more significant therapeutic effect.

Summary: Apigenin sensitizes primary lung cancer cells to TRAIL-induced apoptosis through reprogramming alternative splicing of key TRAIL/DISC components and directly binding heat shock protein 70 to promote cell death. These findings emphasize the synergies between diet and cancer treatments, providing new avenues for improved cancer therapies.

Summary: This study found that lower doses of BPAF can promote dorsal prostatic hyperplasia in rats by interfering with multiple biomarkers in the NF-kappa B signaling pathway. These findings further confirm the toxic effect of BPAF on prostate health and provide important clues to the underlying mechanisms.

Summary: LPS pre-conditioning exerts protective effects on cells by modulating gene and protein expression; LPS-treated cells secrete more inflammatory cytokines and reactive oxygen species, while LPS-preconditioned cells contain higher levels of anti-inflammatory cytokines and suppress expression of certain apoptotic molecules.

Summary: The study reveals that celastrol can effectively inhibit the proliferation of CRC cells by regulating the cell cycle and promoting cell apoptosis. In addition, celastrol also inhibits cell migration and invasion by regulating the expression of specific proteins, thus reducing the malignancy of CRC cells.

Summary: A study found that commonly used NSAIDs can induce the production of growth/differentiation factor 15 (GDF15) independently of their COX inhibition properties. This induction is dependent on the activation of nuclear factor erythroid 2-related factor 2 (NRF2) in myeloid cells and requires sensing by Cysteine 151 of the NRF2 chaperone, Kelch-like ECH-associated protein 1 (KEAP1). This discovery highlights a non-canonical NRF2-dependent mechanism for the anti-inflammatory activity of a certain subset of NSAIDs.

Summary: This study aimed to investigate the involvement of the EGFR/NF kappa B inducing kinase (NIK)/NF kappa B pathway in neuronal apoptosis after SAH in mice. The results showed that in SAH mice, there was an increase in TUNEL- and cleaved caspase-3 positive neurons, brain water content, and expression levels of EGFR/NIK/NF kappa B, which were decreased by AG1478 administration. Therefore, the EGFR/NIK/NF kappa B pathway may be involved in neuronal apoptosis after SAH in mice.

Summary: This study found that PKMYT1 is highly expressed in osteosarcoma and is associated with poor prognosis. It promotes the malignant progression of MG63 cells through negatively regulating the NF-κB pathway, suggesting that PKMYT1 may be a potential molecular therapeutic target for the treatment of osteosarcoma.

Summary: This study reveals the protective role of PLK1 in maintaining intestinal barrier integrity during sepsis. The PLK1/TANK/NF-kappa B axis plays a crucial role in sepsis-induced intestinal barrier dysfunction by regulating mitochondrial dynamics and apoptosis in the intestinal epithelium, and may serve as a potential therapeutic target.
