Summary: The biologic process of bone healing is complex, involving various cells, cytokines, and growth factors. Clotting factor XIII (FXIII) plays a major role in bone defect repair during different stages of healing. However, limited research has been conducted on the combination of FXIII with biomaterials and its effect on blood clotting and bone formation. This review summarizes the role of FXIII in promoting bone regeneration through the regulation of extracellular matrix, collagen, bone-related cells, angiogenesis, and platelets, and provides insights for further investigation on the mechanism and application of FXIII in bone healing.

Summary: Lumbar interbody fusion (LIF) is an effective treatment for low back pain caused by lumbar instability and deformity. Recent studies have focused on different surgical techniques and bone healing strategies, with advancements in transforaminal LIF approach and minimally invasive procedures. Non-union rates after LIF procedures remain a challenge, but efforts are being made to improve surgical outcomes by enhancing fusion cage materials and developing new osteobiologic products.

Summary: The study demonstrated the effectiveness of GTR combined with bone grafting in improving the aesthetic appearance of patients' gingiva. Results showed that after 6 months post-surgery, both groups had increased alveolar bone density and decreased bone defect height, with the observation group showing superior outcomes. Additionally, patients in both groups saw improvements in PLI, SBI, PD, and CAL values, while observing an increase in gingival recession.

Summary: In this study, artificial bones made of HA/PAN and PLA were developed as potential replacements for natural bone. Composite filaments were fabricated using HA/PAN and PLA and applied to produce reentrant artificial bone materials. Scanning electron microscopy and energy-dispersive X-ray spectroscopy were used to analyze the scaffold morphology and elemental composition. Compressive tests were conducted to determine the optimal scaffolding prototype and assess the mechanical behavior of the cellular structure. The results showed that the auxetic cells influenced the bone macrostructure and PLA/HA scaffoldings exhibited excellent potential for bone deficiency restoration.
