Summary: Ulcerative colitis (UC) is a chronic inflammatory bowel disease without an effective cure, but a novel therapeutic strategy using C-60 fullerene suspension (C60FS) has shown promising results in an animal model. C60FS can repair colon barrier dysfunction, promote ulcer healing, reduce inflammation, and inhibit the expression of certain receptors and inflammatory markers in colorectal tissues. This study provides a reliable strategy based on fullerene for treating UC and offers a novel approach for UC therapy.

Summary: Ulcerative colitis (UC) is a precancerous disease caused by a combination of genetic susceptibility, environmental factors, and microbiota dysbiosis. Butyrate has been shown to alleviate DSS-induced colitis by inhibiting proinflammatory mediators and synergistically regulating with MDSCs through CCR9 recruitment.

Summary: The global incidence of inflammatory bowel diseases (IBDs) has increased significantly in the past few decades, with genetic and environmental factors playing a role in the pathogenesis. Diet is a potentially modifiable environmental risk factor for IBD, as it can promote intestinal inflammation through various mechanisms such as dysregulating the immune system and altering intestinal permeability. Dietary changes may be integrated into therapeutic strategies for IBD treatment.

Summary: This paper discusses the role of natural polysaccharides in the treatment of ulcerative colitis (UC). Natural polysaccharides can modulate inflammatory factors, the immune system, and intestinal flora, as well as preserve the intestinal mucosa. Therefore, natural polysaccharides have the potential to be new medications for UC treatment.

Summary: The study reported the infection analysis of patients with ulcerative colitis treated with tofacitinib, revealing that serious infections were more frequent with tofacitinib compared to placebo during induction. In the maintenance and overall cohorts, infection rates were generally low and comparable between treatment groups, with viral infections being rare.

Summary: Ulcerative colitis is a chronic inflammatory bowel disease with main symptoms of diarrhea, abdominal pain, bloody stool, and tenesmus. Current drugs for UC treatment have limitations, necessitating the development of new treatment options, with natural alkaloids potentially playing a crucial role.

Summary: This study aimed to identify target lipids related to the occurrence, development, and treatment of ulcerative colitis (UC) by comparing lipidomics of UC patients, mice, and colonic organoids with healthy controls. The results showed that UC patients and mice often had dysregulation of lipid homeostasis, with a significant reduction in triglycerides and phosphatidylcholines. Phosphatidylcholine 34:1 (PC34:1) was found to be highly abundant and closely correlated with UC disease. This study provides common technologies and strategies for exploring lipid metabolism and opportunities for the discovery of therapeutic agents and biomarkers for UC.

Summary: In patients with ulcerative colitis, re-treatment with tofacitinib can effectively and safely recapture efficacy, regardless of prior treatment failure. Specific efficacy data show that a substantial proportion of patients can achieve clinical response and remission with tofacitinib re-treatment.

Summary: Ulcerative colitis, a form of inflammatory bowel disease, is a progressive condition with increased risk of complications if intestinal inflammation is not properly controlled. New treatment options have expanded the goals of managing ulcerative colitis to include achieving clinical and biological remission, as well as mucosal healing. This review presents available data on each of these goals and their potential application in clinical practice in the future.

Summary: This study provides a summary of tofacitinib safety in the treatment of ulcerative colitis. The results showed a low incidence of adverse events, with stable rates in patients treated for at least 7.8 years. The incidence rates of important safety events were generally below 2.0, except for herpes zoster.

Summary: UC is a chronic relapsing disorder of the colonic tract, and the IL23/IL17 axis plays a key role in its pathogenesis. Blocking this pathway may offer a new approach for treating chronic inflammatory disorders, however, research on targeting the IL17 pathway is still ongoing.

Summary: In traumatic brain injury, various types of myeloid cells play different roles in either exacerbating damage or assisting in healing. Through single-cell RNA sequencing analysis, multiple subsets of microglia, monocyte/macrophage, and dendritic cells were identified in acute TBI and normal brains, providing new therapeutic targets for brain trauma treatment.
