Summary: This paper examines the techniques for quantitatively detecting arc flash caused by electrical faults. The system for detecting the time when an arc flash occurs and the techniques for calibrating this system were analyzed. A field test was conducted to detect the arc flash caused by mechanical non-contact between the pantograph and the catenary of electric railway vehicles. In the field test, 9 arc flashes were detected using the percentage technique for quantitative detection. The technique of detecting the time when an arc flash occurs is a new quantitative evaluation method, which is expected to be widely used for preventing negligent accidents in the electrical field and determining the presence of harmful arcs in real time.

Summary: This study examines the influence of trunnion surface topography and near-surface residual stresses on the stability of a taper connection in hip joint implants. Results show that the primary taper stability is hardly affected by different trunnion surfaces. Fine machining of the taper surface results in the highest stability, while furrowing and rough machining show different trends during dynamic corrosion testing.

Summary: This paper proposes an efficient calculation method based on multiple Gaussian process regression (GPR) to calculate the spherical center displacements (SCDs) of continuous trajectories using the non-contact R-test for the dynamic measurement of five-axis machine tools. The method constructs a transformation matrix to estimate the SCDs, solves and compensates for measurement errors caused by the spherical curvature using the GPR model, applies a threshold to remove some data points and improve model accuracy, and outputs the transformation matrix and GPR model to calculate the SCDs. Experimental results demonstrate that the proposed method achieves higher model accuracy with shorter construction time and improved calculation efficiency compared with the neural network method.

Summary: Public support for preserving and restoring natural ecosystems is crucial for climate change solutions and human health. Increasing connection to nature is important for garnering this support. Results show that outdoor workshops can enhance nature connection and mood, while online workshops only improve mood without significantly increasing nature connection ratings.

Summary: In this paper, short-circuit current is used to simulate the erosion of arc contact during the opening operation of the circuit breaker. The decrement of contact travel for each erosion test remains constant, indicating a predictable pattern in the erosion process.
