Summary: The objective of this paper is to overcome the deficiency of the synchrosqueezed wavelet transform (SSWT) in dealing with signals with fast varying instantaneous frequencies by introducing the fractional wavelet transform (FRWT). A synchrosqueezed FRWT (SSFRWT) is proposed, which shares many properties with SSWT while offering new features. The theoretical analysis of SSFRWT, including derivation of its basic properties, is presented. The theoretical derivations are validated through simulations.

Summary: This study investigates the impact of obesity on electroretinogram signals, utilizing analysis of a and b waves to examine different responses and finding that continuous wavelet transform provides better results for time-frequency analysis. Mexican hat wavelet is identified as the most suitable for analyzing obesity effects, and it is shown that the b wave is significantly affected by obesity for the maximal combined response.

Summary: The study found that obesity has varying effects on different responses of electroretinogram signals, with continuous wavelet transform proving to be the most effective method for extracting time-frequency results. The usage of Mexican hat as a wavelet was identified as the most suitable for analyzing the impact of obesity, with the b-wave being significantly affected by obesity in maximal combined response. The novelty of the research lies in being the first attempt to address the effects of obesity on electroretinogram signals, showing adverse effects on the signals.

Summary: This paper presents a Monte Carlo approach for processing highly redundant continuous frames and analyzes its applications. The authors prove that the continuous wavelet transform (CWT) and the localizing time-frequency transform (LTFT) are linear volume discretizable (LVD). They also show that signal processing with the LTFT has the same asymptotic complexity as the short time Fourier transform (STFT) and CWT, despite the higher dimension of the LTFT coefficient space.

Summary: In this study, a method for evaluating the onset time and velocity of S-wave in concrete materials was developed based on continuous wavelet transform and covariance models. The effectiveness of the method was verified by characterizing the hydration process of cement mortar specimens with different water/cement ratios and cement grades. The results showed that S-wave velocity values decreased with an increase in the w/c ratio, and the variations in specimens made of cement grade 42.5 were larger than those of cement grade 32.5.

Summary: We propose the first quantum version of the one-dimensional integer wavelet S-Transform (QIST). The QIST is based on a new Quantum Block Representation by Basis States (QBRBS) and a quantum rounding operator that avoids nonlinearities. Complete quantum circuits for addition, subtraction, and halving operations are developed with polynomial quantum complexity and constant time complexity. The experimental results on MATLAB and Qiskit coincide with the theoretical results of the classical version. This new quantum transform enables new developments in information hiding, compression, and IoT applications.

Summary: The study showed that neuronal activity in the lateral hypothalamus (LH) is linked to spike wave discharges (SWDs) in absence seizures, with a subset of GABAergic neurons projecting to the dorsal raphe nucleus (DRN) causing excitation in 5-HT neurons. This suggests a long-range subcortical regulation of serotonergic neuromodulation in absence seizures.

Summary: With the global trend of carbon emission reduction, renewable energy sources will be deployed more vigorously. However, the connection of numerous renewable energy sources poses an increasingly critical challenge to power quality (PQ) issues. This paper proposes an improved S-transform (IST) method that can accurately detect various disturbances. The method can be implemented quickly using fast Fourier transform (FFT), and it has excellent energy concentration performance at different detection frequencies.
