Every second, someone around the world develops a diabetic foot ulcer. Half get infected, and there is an amputation every 20 seconds. Our team is dedicated to eliminating preventable amputation. We are exploring a number of promising avenues- including an NIH sponsored project where we are randomizing patients into an inexpensive smart boot designed by former Air Jordan designer coupled with a smart watch to help promote adherence. The data emerging are promising and, coupled with other projects we are working on collectively help our patients move through their world.
