Poster summary
- Nanoparticles serve to reduce toxicity, enhance bioactivity and improve targeting. Selenium nanopartciles (SeNPs) are explored because of its unique characteristics and various known therapeutic benefits such antimicrobial activity, lower cytotoxic effects, antioxidants activities and reducing risk of cancer, and anti inflammatory activity using albumin denaturation assay. In this study, Solanum xanthocarpum mediated Selenium nanoparticles which has more antimicrobial activity against harmful pathogens and lowered toxic effects and potent anti inflammatory activity and antioxidants activities. Solanum xanthocarpum mediated Selenium nanoparticles were evaluated for its antimicrobial activity and cytotoxic activity using brine shrimp lethality assay. The anti-inflammatory activity is observed using albumin denaturation assay and antioxidant activity evaluated using DPPH assay. These Solanum xanthocarpum stabilized selenium nanoparticle formulations were demonstrated to have biocompatibility, strong potential demonstrated to have biocompatibility, as well as strong potential for application in the fields of medicine and food.
