Aims and Scope
Tree Physiology promotes research in a framework of hierarchically organized systems, measuring insight by the ability to link adjacent layers: thus, investigated tree physiology phenomenon should seek mechanistic explanation in finer-scale phenomena as well as seek significance in larger scale phenomena (Passioura 1979). A phenomenon not linked downscale is merely descriptive; an observation not linked upscale, might be trivial. Physiologists often refer qualitatively to processes at finer or coarser scale than the scale of their observation, and studies formally directed at three, or even two adjacent scales are rare. To emphasize the importance of relating mechanisms to coarser scale function, Tree Physiology will highlight papers doing so particularly well as feature papers.

Verified Reviews
Submission: After submitting the manuscript, the technical editor will review it on the same day or the next day and conduct an initial review with the editor-in-chief or deputy editor-in-chief. The editor-in-chief usually goes online once a week, and after the manuscript passes the review, it will be submitted to the managing editor. The speed of the managing editor going online varies, some may only go online once a month, while others may go online every few days. The managing editor usually sends the manuscript to 2-3 reviewers for review, which takes about one month. After the review is completed, the managing editor makes a decision on the manuscript and then informs the editor-in-chief for the final decision. The editor-in-chief generally follows the decision of the managing editor.
Review: After receiving the review invitation, you need to submit your opinions within 2 weeks. There are major revisions, minor revisions, acceptance, and rejection. Reviewers can choose whether to conduct a second review.
In summary, as long as the manuscript has some novelty, the editor-in-chief will give it the green light. However, it is uncertain with the reviewers. When submitting manuscripts, it is necessary to ensure the formatting is perfect, making it an easy task for the reviewers to review.
