A journal on ecology, unexpectedly affiliated with forestry and botany, has become a second-tier journal in the distorted classification system of the Chinese Academy of Sciences. This journal has become a backyard for some prominent macro-ecologists in China (whenever their projects cannot be concluded or their articles cannot be published, they submit them to this journal, where the editors ask acquaintances to review them and they get accepted and published within minutes). This year, while the impact factors of ecological journals have generally increased, the impact factor of this journal has decreased to just over 1, which is truly laughable. It is advised for non-editorial board members to be cautious when submitting articles.

The top journal in the field, which has an impact factor of 10, at least went through peer review. I made some changes based on the feedback and submitted this JPE, but it was not peer-reviewed. Haha. I agree with what the 5th floor said.
