REACT FUNCT POLYM

ISSN / eISSN
1381-5148
Aims and Scope
Reactive & Functional Polymers provides a forum to disseminate original ideas, concepts and developments in the science and technology of polymers with functional groups, which impart specific chemical reactivity or physical, chemical, structural, biological, and pharmacological functionality. The scope covers organic polymers, acting for instance as reagents, catalysts, templates, ion-exchangers, selective sorbents, chelating or antimicrobial agents, drug carriers, sensors, membranes, and hydrogels. This also includes reactive cross-linkable prepolymers and high-performance thermosetting polymers, natural or degradable polymers, conducting polymers, and porous polymers.

Original research articles must contain thorough molecular and material characterization data on synthesis of the above polymers in combination with their applications. Applications include but are not limited to catalysis, water or effluent treatment, separations and recovery, electronics and information storage, energy conversion, encapsulation, or adhesion.

Submitted in January of the 20th year, the article was reviewed by two reviewers. One of them highly approved, while the other believed that there was a lack of innovation. After considering the suggestions, the journal recommended making revisions before resubmitting. The article was resubmitted in March of the 20th year, and in April, extensive revisions were requested. The revised version was uploaded in May, and in June, a second round of modifications was made and uploaded. During this process, one of the reviewers was replaced. In August, a third round of revisions was made, but there was no communication for two months. After sending a reminder, the article was accepted in October, and it was published online in November.

Anyway, it's just that the editing process is extremely slow, around 3 weeks? So, I pressed for it and got ready to reject the manuscript. It was sent for review and the external review was quick, about 20 days. Then, there was a major revision, which was completed in two or three days. There was no second review, so I prepared myself mentally for the possibility of rejection. It stayed in the hands of the editor for a very, very, very long time.
