HYDROMETALLURGY

The paper went through 5.5 months of revisions. I would like to thank Dr. Gamini Senanayake, the editor-in-chief, and the reviewers for their careful modifications, which greatly improved the quality of the paper. I am grateful for the following submission process:

October 20, 2022: Submitted
October 21, 2022: Assigned handing editor
November 2, 2022: Under review
December 3, 2022: Major revision with two reviewers. One did not express their opinion, while the other had a positive inclination. I was given one month to make the revisions, but due to contracting COVID-19, the deadline was extended by 10 days.
January 5, 2023: Submitted the revised manuscript and sent it back to the original two reviewers on January 8.
January 15, 2023: Minor revision with one reviewer's approval and the other reviewer raising some additional questions. I was given half a month to make the revisions.
January 28, 2023: Submitted the revised manuscript and sent it for external review on January 30. The external review process took approximately over a month, possibly delayed by one of the reviewers who did not provide feedback promptly.
March 12, 2023, to April 5, 2023: Underwent two more rounds of minor revisions without another round of review. The focus was mainly on addressing the questions raised by the editor. I would like to express my deep gratitude to Dr. Gamini Senanayake, the editor-in-chief, for his meticulous modifications, as it was almost word-for-word, which deeply moved me.
April 5, 2023: Received the revised manuscript and within two hours received the acceptance email.

Overall, the submission process went relatively smoothly. I hope the journal continues to thrive and improve!

In the field of hydrometallurgy, the research group has published 8 papers in this journal in the past 5 years. The boss has already requested not to submit any more in recent years.
Objectively speaking, the level of this journal is average, and it is generally considered to be in the lower range of the second tier.
If the research group can publish two more papers in it, it will be easier to get accepted in the future even with lower quality work.
So, if you see someone publishing many papers in Hydrometallurgy, it is better to stay away as they are likely to be opportunistic and not serious researchers.
